I know it says castle link ready or whatever on the page, but doesnt' explicitly say the castle link is included out the box.

Also, is it possible to just get the link part, not the USB cable? as I already have several of these.
mamba max comes with a usb cable that plugs into the esc and software.

for the link (usb cable plugs into one end and the esc wire for the receiver plugs into the other end) you'll need to buy the castle link, it comes with software. you dont need this with a mamba max but you do with a mamba 25.

born2run - thats pretty crazy! he needs to clock it with GPS or something. and i dont understand is he running a 2s2p or a 4s pack? because 4s would destroy it... i know a guy who did a 3s 5700 in a 1/10 pan car... wish we had some videos.... it basically fell apart after one speed pass...

We had a guy running a 1/8th electric buggy conversion today running 4s with the Mamba Max with a fan on it. He was running 6 minute heat races and the speedo was a 140 degrees. Not that the Mamba Max was desgined for this but damn this speedo is tough.

The guy knows its not designed for this and he said if he did burn it up he wouldn't be made about it. He is waiting for the Monster Max but in the meantime he said he was just going to keep running it and having fun.

He says he is running 2X2s1p packs (14.8v) with a MM7700 system on a normal TC4!!!Hard to believe :-(
At this voltage and gearing the 7700 sould be fried and at this speed a normal TC4 sould be disintegrated.

it does look like he has it wired for 14.8v.... scary ehh? i wanna see a GPS or radar of that and see what it really is... and the motors might be able to take 100k RPM. but over 120k... that 20k rpm can be a big difference at that high rpm...

Personaly i dont care if he use a radar or a GPS or a VSM Venom. This thing is fast.Very fast. But i can't understand how he can run the 7700 with 14.8v, without frying the motor.I have to try the same on my car.Do you think i'll void the warranty?

those limits are put in place as a manufacturers suggestion. will the esc and motor take more power, yes. for how long, nobody knows. will it void the warranty, probably. now go add batteries, gear the car right, and put up a video like the one above.

I don't like to spent my money on batteries-motors-speedos just for going 120miles on a straight and to put up a video on youtube. Not me.

does anyone know the melting temp of the solder on the esc? What kind of witchcraft are they using???
Lead-free solder to comply with California statues. The soldering irons we have here to put the wires on aren't even for r/c purposes. They're for doing stained glass! LOL
