Not positive on the steps, but pretty sure it's 256 steps total (128 each way), motor is 500W continuous 1000-1200W peak...your power output varies with batteries, gearing, vehicle it's in, etc.

Amm, can somebody please answer me about my questions above?
What could we wrong with my mamba max 7700 combo so it cant go fast like my 2 friends mambas with the same battery, 1:10 truck and radio, same settings and s.o?? My mamba looks like brand new, even dont have scratches on the ESC or motor( I run it very rarely). Is there any signs I can check for inside ESC or motor, or what else can I do to fix this problem? How long is the varianty? I own the mamba for 1.5 years... If you guys cant help me, please suggest me a person to talk about my problem or better make a gift for the first kid toycar I met on the street, because this is not the mamba as my friends run...

P.s. Every time the ESC goes hot(typicly 210-220F, sometimes even 230F), the motor havent been hotter then 180F ever, nomater the gears I've trieded it cant be cooler then that. Dnno which one from both has thermal protection...

Thanks

I tried calling castle at 5 est and says open till 5 central but got the voicemail thing twice.

Mamba Max 5700-losi 5000 lipo

Ok I ran my set up all last season no problem. I got to run it this season and about 3 min in it would start cogging real bad then just stop. If i held it in the air the wheels would just sit and shake at full throttle. like the battery was dead but testing the battery still at 7.4 volts

Today i put it all in my sons buggy using his orion 4800 (which we just ran full race day and no problems with his brushed set up) and all is good running about 3 min at about 115-116 degrees at motor starts cogging then same thing, just stops working and when in air wheels just shake at full throttle.

Take the 5700 motor out of my other sons buggy and swap it in. His seems to run fine but started sprinkling and had to quit after about 2 minutes. BUT hadnt recharged battery so still on same charge and no issues.

Im new to electrics pretty much still. Does this sound just like a bad motor? I took motor apart and nothing wrong that i could see. Is there a simple fix or just buy him a new motor? Amain is selling the 5700 for like $84 which seems high to me when you can get a sidewinder with motor from LHS for not much more. Ideas? Suggestions?

Is there a reason why it has that small amount? My old GTB has around 1000 total steps.

Dude...that was a guess, as I stated. I am not an engineer for Castle. I work tech, show lead, head of the sponsored team, etc...but I do NOT have an EE degree in electronics. I can pretty much explain everything else to you (including some EE theory) though but when it comes to those things they are not in my schedule...even when oscilloscope testing. You'd have to write the software to know...and I didn't do that. If you would really like to know I will ask the owner of the company though...come to think of it, now I want to know.

ESC is always going to get hot with that setup. ESC I've had at 300F, no fan, several times. Put your friends battery in your car and see what happens. Let me know. Email me at [email protected]

"Dude" I only asked because I thought you would know. Novak has it listed in their catalogs so I thought you would have it at the click of a mouse.

There was no reason for you to get defensive.

Default Mamba Max

I have a Mamba Max and when I tried to use it, all the leds come on but it doesn't do anything besides gets warm. The leds don't blink, just are on solid. I updated the diver today and I also tried Lipo / NiMH batteries. When it is hooked up to the computer, the red and green leds will blink. Any suggestions? Thanks

im looking at getting a lipo(using 5000mah nimh now).
what are good battery specs to get. i know that it can only be 2s maximum, but should i look at getting a battery with the highest current(c) rating.

eg: 7.4v, 5000mah, 40c?

Hello again. Not sure what made the difference but today, when I run the mamba, it was whole different story. Got very nice acceleration and top speed. I'm very pleased now.

Changes I made are these.
1. Cut and weld the wires from ESC to Motor
2. Install the new software and firmware
3. Put a fan on the ESC

I'm not 100% sure form where come this big difference, but even the temps were down to 140F. Excelent!

P.s. Did you changed something in the brake strenght in new software? I've make several turns in the air first time when I hit it. Or the brake was limited as acceleration and so, when I had this problem.

Default CASTLE CREATIONS PINIONS NOW ON SALE!!!

Gotta have a way to get the power from the motor to the drivetrain. Sounds like the world’s supply of 5mm pinions evaporated once the Mamba Monster came out. We’ve got the following 5mm shaft pinions covered:

CC PINION - MOD-1: manufactured from titanium coated hardened steel. Most common use will be for the 1/8th scale conversions. Available in 11T, 13T, 15T, 17T, 19T, 21T, and 23T.

CC PINION - 32P: machined from aluminum and anodized Castle green. Most common uses will be for monster trucks. Available in 18T, 20T, 22T, 24T, 26T, and 28T.

We’ve made sure that these use the biggest Allen head set screw we could fit.
