Joe that is even better news with the grandfathering of the older motors. I normally beat down ROAR but I will give them a huge props for giving even more racers a chance to race and maybe it will help get a few more racers to a ROAR event.

Joe, got a few more q's mate

Do you have an rrp for the MMpro?

Will the new rebuildable motors be a sensorless design or sensored? Im planning to get an MMPro anyway but would just like to know. I may run it with my MM.

When do you plan to release the MMPro??

Im also thinking of getting the new version pulse motor when they are released. have you run an MM with a pulse motor at all? I know i will probably experience the typical stuttering at start-up, but is that about it?

Thanks in advance mate...

The motors are just like the ones Castle has now but will be able to be torn apart and will be engraved on the back with the KV rating. They are still sensorless.

My best guess for release would still be a few months out because testing at best case is just starting. Joe might post on this but it is hard to say til testing is done and see what the results are from that.

i have a quick question about warrantees i have had a MMM V3 for about a month and a half with the 2200kv neu-castle motor combo in my truggy. well i was out at the the track and it seized on me so i looked at it and the front bell housing was stripped from the can and the magnet was in pieces(like it blew up inside the can and ripped the bell housing of). it only had about and hour and a half on the motor and esc they were both bought brand new for holmes hobbys. what do i do? this thing only had the fan come on a couple of times ever, was always geared properly.

Hey guys,

what 13.5 BL motor would you recommend for use with a Mamba Max? My local club requires a 13.5 for rubber TC class, so I can't use the Castle motors (though I'd like to).

I'm learning about this brushless thing as I go along (been out of RC for a while), so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Erik

Was kinda curious as to what the maximum save voltage on the RX side of my Mamba Max's is rated for...

My steering servo is unregulated LiPo safe, and so is my RX... But I don't want to burn out my speed controls...

I just smoked my mamba max esc and send it in for repair three weeks ago and guest what... today i just received a new mamba max esc
For the note i live in Malaysia (south east asia) and that was a quick service...

my friend had send in his faulty esc (another manufacturer) almost two month ago and still didn't receive it back untill today...

that is the comparison between castle creation support compare to other manufacturer and i will be a loyal user of castle creation product..

Hello!
I have few more questions if you dont mind
I have MM 7700 and run ot 2S 8000mah 20c lipo
I'm sure its somewhere in this thread, but can you tell me the optimal operating temperature of the speed and motor, because I think mine goes hotter then they should. ESC is normally 200-220F and motor is around 160-170F.
Second I want to ask about the connectors to the motor. Stocks are 4.5mm gold connectors, but they also gets very hot and I'm thinking to replace them or just to weld the wires together. Few words about this? Should I do it?
Third and last I want to ask about the dean connectors to the battery. It also goes hot, but dont have really a problem sofar. My friend has melted it down and replace it with ultra deans connector. Can you suggest me the best option for replacement?

Thanks a lot!
Stanislav

The deans connectors and motor connectors will get hot as the 7700 is pulling alot of current thru them and depending on length you are running before letting it cool down will lso help in determining how hot it will get. Deans plugs are find on the battery. Once of the best plugs out for years. For motor connectors I would use the Castle bullet plugs as they fit tight and work well.

Temp wise I would want the speedo and motor under 180 degrees. If you have room I would use a fan on your speedo. Even though the speedo is capable of high temps I would still waouldn't want it at 200 plus degrees. Cooler you can keep it the longer life you will have from it.

Stanislav,

The ESC can reach as high as 300F and still operate in most cases. As long as you keep the motor under 200F by the end of the run the ESC should take anything you can throw at it. As for the connectors, they are 4mm and sufficient for the application (going larger never hurts, and if you're good at soldering that is the best option...the less connections the less resistance. As for the Deans Ultra connector make sure your friend was using a real Deans Ultra...there are clones on the market now that you can barely tell apart from the real ones from looking at them. I run Deans with setups much higher power than this...6s 1800kv prototype Monster Max system, RC8 buggy, 24/44 gearing....at least double the wattage of a MM system. See the vid.

Too many factors involved for someone else to tell you what you should run. Weight of the vehicle, actual motor kv (can vary by up to 10% + or -), voltage of your battery under load, ambient temperature where you run the vehicle, diameter of the tires, type of environment you run in, etc etc etc. The higher the voltage the higher FDR you need to start out with. I'd say 12:1 is a good starting point for 2s lipo ad down. Check motor temps every few minutes any time you change gearing or increase voltage. Max is 200F. As long as the motor stays below that at the end of the run you can gear any way you'd like.
