Not near as long as some other products I can think of.

yes i know it was a joke. but just the anticipation of having an ESC with that much power made everything seem twice as long as it really was.

Very understandable. Waiting for a new product seems to take forever and in R/C it just seems to be even longer.

Hi all, I have a question about the mamba system I am running. Right now I have a mamba max and a 4600 motor in my losi xxxtcr and the motor is running pretty hot(165-185). I have all of my settings at default except the dead band, drag brake and brake amount. I do not want to turn the timing back becasue I would loose some of my torque and top end. Here is my question if I put a 5700 motor in it and turn the timing all the way back will it run like the 4600, but with out heating up as much?

Thanks,
David

To me higher timing gives more topend but IMO takes away some torque. The 5700 motor is faster and if you geared it down 1 or 2 teeth it will still have more topend and torque than the 4600 motor.

Or if you run high timing I would gear down as higher timing gives you more topend so gearing down a little you should still have nice topend and more punch. Either way the 5700 motor is faster and more torque so you can't go wrong if you decided on getting one plus it gives you more options for different track condidtions.

For the Mamba Monsters that were shipped with the wires soldered to the board, I was advised that you will void your warranty if you remove the wires. However, the Mamba Monsters at least at the retailer level were advertised as having the bullet connectors on the board, and no mention was made that this was not so.

So my question is this, For these units that have the wires soldered to the board, if we send in the unit at our expense, will the wires be replaced for free?

We're going to be discussing that at our next engineering/tech meeting. I'll let you know Cain...

I join tailranger on the sensored stuff. Even if castle always believed in sensorless technology, fact is that startup on some motor is difficult to achieve without a "dedicated and made for it" software or use sensors.

I have read that USB might not be in the next Mamba Max generation. Why not put a sensor plug there ?

Think about it twice you will just end with a bullet proof controller (no thermal ) that could run anything else for a good price.
Simply the cheapest and rugged hybrid ESC out there.

I would just like Castle to make a race legal system, regardless of what type of sensor or sensorless tech they use. If one is better than the other and works best in RC cars, go with that. Smooth and reliable.

im suprised your not doing more in the 70-80 range... if people can take rustlers on 3s and do well over 60 with the 5700... either way thats hauling!!! you hit a curb?
