What are the pros and cons of converting a Tamiya F201 ($150) with your $80 chassis upgrade versus spending $400 ($349 roller plus $50 body) on your F206F1. I know 2wd and belt drive, and it looks like more room for electronics in your F206 chassis. How else can I justify $400 for a F206 versus $230 for a F201 upgraded?

They don't race these things in my area (yet), but it sure looks like a cool toy.

Thanks.

Thanks for the Complement. I think

You are not comparing apples to apples here ok.

I guess to me the Question should be what is the pros and cons of converting a Tamiya F201 ($150) with your $80 chassis upgrade versus spending $400 ($379 roller ) on your Tuned Roller or PRO Roller F1 car.
And compare that to the F206F1 2wd car you make?

How else can I justify $400 for a F206 versus $230 for a F201 upgraded?

Forgot to mention...a fully decked out competitive F201 will cost you over $700 in just aftermarket parts alone not including the original kit...so $350 is a pretty good value in comparison for a F206F1 2WD car that comes with all of it as our F201 Tuned Roller series cars and all of the cars MLP offer.

And you would be better off getting the 3Racing Chassis at about 50 to 60 $$ over the MLP of the same Chassis at 80.00 ok.

So I would say find someone with a Stock F201 and compare it to the MLP Tuned Roller or just look at what you have to work with and all of the Issues that would need to be delt with.

MLP Car

First one will see :a full carbon fiber chassis and then full aluminum shocks, Aluminum pivots adjustable links Aluminum spur and motor mount lightweight gears - shafts and main shafts lightweight diffs Derlin suspension cups, Aluminum steering horn Aluminum Servo posts - blue aluminum ball sockets on the suspension links.
Opitional : Titanium screws Aluminum arms Aluminum Knuckles.
one peice cvs and they are shimmed

Now the MLP F201 cars over the Upgrade Chassis above list!

As for me to justify the price of the F206F1 2WD car is a car more inline with a real F1 car.

And to bridge the gap from the 2wd pan cars and 4wd handy cap cars.

To make F1 Racing what it should be Fun!! and driver skill !

It is full carbon fiber and Aluminum Full Suspension and Light Weight almost 1/2 of the stock F201. and more fun to drive.

So if you are going to play with the car and not race it well I would go with the kit found on ebay for about 100.00 and a 3Racing Chassis for about 49.00 to 59.00 there will be more things you will want to address on the car as for you change one thing then you feel you need to change the next and so on and so on. and tell me what kinda money you have into it when you are done ok. This I know all to well

Thanks. I'm convinced.

When I said "How else can I justify $400 for a F206 versus $230?", I wasn't being sarcastic, I just worded the question poorly. I should have said "What other features do I get with the F206F1 that the Tamiya doesn't have?"

Let's hope I've got an E-Bay outbid notice on that F201 waiting for me at home tonight.

Thanks.

hawk6 I know you were not being sarcastic I was not as well ok.

The F206F1 only has the Tamiya Blue ball studs on it.
Oh and the pistons and shafts for the upgrade shock setup.

The rest of the Car is MLP FPM 3Racing and Tobee craft.

Where is Freeport, IL and do you have a local track maybe it would be a good place to take the F1 cars and touring car to and show you and maybe test some? If things get up to date and there is time for it.

Freeport is about 30 minutes west of Rockford.

No, there is not a local track (part of the reason I'm a D Main hack). His 'n Hers and Trackside may be your best bet. Obviously not all touring car diehards would be interested, but I bet some might. Let me know if and when you make it to either of those tracks.

Take care and good luck with business.

Marty,
Slightly off topic, but...

Will your F1 bodies fit on the Tamiya F103GT?

Add your bodies and the HPI wheels and tires to Tamiya's $109 chassis and people may have an inexpensive entry into 2wd F1 RC. If 100 people go that route, 10 of them may turn into diehard F1 RC racers and buy the MLP chassis a few months down the road.

Just a thought.
