I have to be honest here, I haven't watched much b-ball

this year. I can't stand Kobe, and it kinda soured me on the

pros! But I'm watching as many play-off games as I can.

Football my first love, I get the football package so I get

ALL the games! I'll make sure I watch the Hornets game.

BUT, maybe my Cavs could do it just once before I croak!

Phil, I'll keep rootin' for 'em! Tried to watch the Lakers last
night but it was the Kobe show, switched channels!
Tonight my Cavs are on again! GO CAVS!!!!!!

I saw a program on how to save at the grocery store, and
I thought we need to talk about "money saving" tips when
we're traveling to races. ESPECIALLY in this economy!

Best one I have is to book your room at PriceLine. We paid
$40.00 plus tax at the Sheraton, almost half what we paid
at the other motel last year! You guys should have some
money saving tips on R/C stuff----------Anybody???

There are some tips on saving old rims.

Best one I know of is to soak the rims in accetone after cutting out the foam. Get a paint can and fill it up about 3/4 the way with accetone and let the rims soak for about 12 hours and the rubber comes right off.

Others have stated baking and boiling the rims works as well but never had sucess with those methods.

Use shoe goo to protect you bodies. Look at an old body to see where the chassis rubs on the body and see where the cracks develope. Put a layer of shoe goo in the areas were the paint rubbed off an old body and around any area's the body had cracked. The shoe goo will not only protect your awesome paint job but keep the plastic in better shape.

Flip diff rings when rebuilding the diff. The other side just rests against the outdrives and the small bumpy groove that made your diff notchy will be on the other side. Saves a couple bucks here. I don't recommend this for thust bearings though. I have seen thrust washsers explode when the groove is worn on both sides (depends on the washers used.) Losi diffs use the grooved thrust washer bearings. The thrust bearing should be good for 2-3 rebuilds at a minium. Just clean and put new grease in.

Keep a log of how many runs you keep on a motor. Sometimes we forget and not sure how many runs are on them and might replace the brushes more often then needed. If you have a couple motors run for the first 2-3 runs in racing and then run for a couple more runs in practice. Saves on brushes.

A few things that came to mind quick!

Good ones, Casper! I think Scott uses old coffee cans too!
Bisbee had a wait and was ready to go for his A-Main, he was
sitting there cutting off tires so they'd be ready to throw in a
can and soak when he got home!

Also on motors, we had a customer that had never cut the comm
or changed brushes! They had the "old' labels on, so they had
been run a LONG time! As Casper said, sometimes we change
them too often. But sometimes we forget that it's better to
take a "little" off the comm before it gets in the "hour-glass"
shape and we have to take off a lot. Casper ran 1- 19t that
he only ran at the JBRL races, that he ran the entire series with!
A little maintenance goes a long way!!!!!!!

And Scott and all the Team drivers will cut them for you,
FOR FREE!!!!!!!!

Did I get that right, Casper about the 19t ??????
