AE makes a couple pistons. They make a #1, #2, and #3. It has been years since I have run AE stuff so someone correct me if I get this backwards but I think #1 is the largest hole pision and #3 is the smallest hole piston.

Losi sells 37.5wt oil. There oils are not on the same scales though.

If you are fine tuning with oils check out

http://www.twf8.ws/php/tip/shock.html

For shock oil comparisons

I agree.

I've built most kits to initial factory specs, with a little modification. I also talk to local hot shoes who are consistantly fast and whoe cars handle well. Most of the time, its a variation of a Pro's setup.

I think alot of it depnds on the driver as well. For me, Im not as super technical with regards to my car. I know and understand how some basic tuning makes the car handle different, (but I can't tell you why adding a washer to a ball stud makes all the difference), but I digress.

I feel, Im a good enough driver that I can drive just about anything. I can usualy adapt my driving style to the car. Though thats not the way you should drive.

You've got it right Casper. I do, however, use Losi oil in my AE shocks though.

Thanks for all the info. I usually start with the losi kit setup and go from there. I do agree with you Casper about the track changing traction, etc. I am a Hot Rod local and one week we will be running holeshots and the next we are using step pins. it never seems to be consistent enough when it is run wet, however dry is a completely different story.

Default Setup

Daniel,
Go to Casper's website and use his setups for the Losi rides.
I struggled for a long time before doing that, and boy did it help out.

Now it's just a little oil/ride height change to suit a different track layout now and then.

Get those setups quick. I am in the process of changing the site to all Kyosho info! Should happen over the holidays! I will be keeping the setup info sheet and stuff like that but I will be taking down my Losi setups since I don't run those cars anymore.

i just tried the link from the losi site and it said that the URL was not found. If you could link it on here, maybe it would work. It may be a mistake on Losi's end.

The SP is all SPiffied-up now. I re-wired the speed control and the motor.

Much nicer now.

Casper...don't hate on the shiny rear bones.
