The issue I have with the 13.5 BL motors is they are bearing right? I know I have talked with Scott and Judi about bearings in a stock motor but there is something about that which just doen't feel right.

Here is the fundamental problem, as Big Jim Greenemeyer

said before he passed. We are held to very strict standards

in stock and 19t. We have not been allowed to advance

the technology, still use 3 pole armatures, not 5, bushings

not bearings and on and on.

As Scott says, with BL, it's "adjust as necessary and whenever"

THEY feel the need to.

Then we're told we have "out-dated technology" and have to

move out of the way!!!!!!!!!

Yes, they have bearings. Even if you don't like bearings in a

stock motor, the issue is for years we have been denied the

right to put bearings in stock motors, AND STILL CAN NOT!

So, why is it BL stock can have bearings??

My 2 cents, not that it counts for much. lol.

1. If its not 27t single, then its a mod motor. period. 19t is just another added cost for racers and another suposed "spec class" for pro drivers to sandbag. Why do we have to have stock, 19t and mod for offroad. lets do like the UK and just have mod. lol. that will simplify things.

2. a 13.5, 10.5 are NOWHERE near the same as a brushed stock and brushed 19t. some balance needs to be made to make both more equal if they are going to be stuck in the same boat. brushed motor builders should be able to advace the technology just like the brushless people are.

3. From a simplistic standpoint and ease of mantinence, brushless will eventually win out over brushed motors becuase people now-a-days are generally lazy and want to take the easy road. even though i dont see whats so difficult about turning a com and changin brushes. everyone says brushless is so much smoother. I drove a friends car with brushless and couldnt tell a friggin difference.

4. After this weekend I am officially not going to complain about LiPos blowing up. I have seen too many nimh packs go off like a time bomb this weekend due to idiots not knowing how to opperate a charger. My thoughts are is that they are both dangerous when charged wrong.

AMEN to that B'ner!!!!!!!!!

Last post on the issue today, I gotta get some work done!

Yes, BL will win out. Lazy, I guess so! I saw on the new

Reedy thread someone was happy to have screw on brushes

and not soldered, at least they admitted they are lazy!!!!!!

Your white gut and a black shirt will contrast well. You used your secret weapon in the main didnt you?! I thought I heard someone say they thought there was a mirror being shined on the drivers stand.

All kidding aside, greats runs this weekend man, the bean got his groove back and no llamas were involved.

man....I'm missing all this "fun" with the BL/brushed discussions

I'm glad the smaller things are all brushed (well at least the Mini-z's are all brushed) heheheh

I think one of the most challenging parts of brushless is that, no matter what we end up doing, a Stock and a 19turn usually has a sweet spot on gearing. I have not seen it to be such as important in a brushless, you can just gear them up a few teeth and you don't have as many problems as you do in a true stock. There has been mumbles around of limiting gearing options for cars in BL stock... *rolls eyes* can we just put it in the too hard basket now?

One of the big arguments, like Judi has said, let us put put bearings in a stock can, this will, i think, help this whole BL parity thing too and give us a little more power.

Yes, I'm still working!!

Just a quick reply, will answer everyone tonight.

Bearings won't do much for speed, but they would last a little

better than bushings, although most don't go out unless you

ream them or don't clean out the bushing cleaner.

Point still is, we aren't allowed to change anything. Only

went to rebuildable AFTER Ernie already put them out, at great

risk, and they were accepted by racers.

The bearing stock did not go over, and nothing has changed as

far as rules.

Hi all!!! It has been a while since I have been in here. The dreaded 4 letter word "work" is killing me. What is everyone doing for racing this weekend?

Mom,
Bushings wearing out?!?!?! I have had the same stock truck motors for almost 2 years and 2 armatures later. Speaking of that I am going to need another armature soon for my baby.

I can not comment on the BL crap because I am sticking to what I know. I can say one thing, and that is CHEATERS!!!!!

Scott,
Where are we racing this weekend, do not leave me and Bob in suspense all week. Either Hot Rod or Pegasus?????

Why are you confused Scott? Is it the added pressure of deciding where we are going to race? I am up for any racing this week. Does anyone know if So Cal is racing this Friday or are they closed for the holidays.
