Im still on the fence about brushless. I can see the advantages, but the initial outlay for costs is more than most ESCs and motors combined. I agree that they should do a better job of rating the motors.

My goal is to run brushed motors in my rigs, but use Lipo batteries. Banzai FTW!

Side note. looks like Dixon is is out for the season w/ a knee injury.

I agree the biggest obsticle to true brushless acceptance is their manufactures false claims of which brushed motors they are equivalent to (at least for onroad). Lets face it brushed motors have been the industry standard for a long time and as such they should be the base standard for all motors in the future. I am speaking from my viewpoint as a racer in stock class only where the restrictions on brusned are strictly enforced on brushed motors but there dont seem to be any restrictions on brushless.
It is up to the manufactures and distributers of brushed motors to unite and pressure the governing bodies into having the two types tested to ensure equality. Rules should then be formulated for the classes. There is no reason the two types cannot run/compete together as long as it is truly fair.

Sorry if I raved too much but I am passionate about this subject. I hope I have not offended any-one as I sometimes have trouble putting thoughts to paper in the way they were meant.

No, don't delete!

It seems the longer we go on with this, the more confused

it gets!! I am reading that the 17.5 is now the stock

"equivalent" !! Everybody seems to be making

up their own rules, and every country their own rules.

I believe I read BL is NOT allowed in Japan, sanctioned races.

Has anybody seen any Roar rules that clarify the situation????

Brushless. Pffffffffffffff. Who needs it when you have BANZAI POWER!!!!!!!!!!

Beeing the ONLY brushed motored 2wd mod car in the A-main at our weekend fun run Winternats race that drew fast factory guys from all over was niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Won it actually, but seeing how I jumped over the leader on the last lap crossing the loop and my transponder didnt count it I ended up second (but first. lol) Too much rip I guess

And on top of a good race weekend, the OU Sooners lost and my Cowboys won! YEA!!!!!!!!!! Made the weekend even better The Gooner crying here is unbeleivable. There could be a river of Sooner tears built. lol

Thank you Mom.
Firstly may I please call you Judy or Mrs Bonzai or Banzai Judy or something? Not due to any disrespect , I have a very personal reason for not using "mom" .

Perhaps there could be a petition or something similar that could be be run for even a week or two then be presented to some of the governing bodies like roar. It may not work but is it possible? I am sure there would be people from both sides of the fence sign it just to get the issue resolved.

Judi,

got the package today from customs. Cost me 1 1/2 hours, but they don't charge me. It's hard to explain the customs officer what the parts are for.
Radio controlled racecar =TOYS??

New german motor / battery rules:

TC stock: 5 cells, 9.5 T bl or 19 T brushed, motor homologation?

Offroad stock : 6 cells, 13.5 T bl or 27 T brushed, motor homologation?

You sure can, Judi is just fine with me!

I honestly don't believe much can be done at this point.
If you roam around this forum, you will see the complaints
about Roar. Only about 100 people even bother to vote in
the elections.

I think they have their own forum, tried it once but it was
difficult to navigate, but I think they might have a new one.
You might try posting on that forum and see if you get a
reply.

Most tracks and races are now setting their own rules.
Ebi emailed me last night that Germany has now set their
rules, 13.5 and stock will run together.

It will be a track by track, and race to race decision. Best
advise is to be a part of the decision at your home track.
