This weather just sucks! It is way too hot this summer. I can hardly remember a year that was this hot! Hopefully the race next weekend at camarillo will be tolerable! (Weather wise I am not sure what the track will be like )

I stopped by Freedom park on my way to Pismo Beach, didn't look like much. It wasn't too hot when I was there, which was nice. Anyone know what tires to run on it? When I saw it, the straight (which was small) looked very hard, while there weren't any jumps (just piles of dirt). There were a few park benches next to like 8 power outlets (leads me to think there will be power problems with the breakers).

Hope to see you guys there, I'll probably be bringing my trailer, since I'll need to take a table and stuff.

Thanks for the post, Racer for fun and greetings Judi!! A group of club members layed out a track yesterday, and from what I hear it's the best we've had in some time. A few guys worked thier arses off in this heat to get ready for next Sunday. The track will be available for practice on Saturday, along side final grooming and prep for Sunday. We look forward to all who'll be attending. There will be a generator in the parking lot for all those out there. More to follow...
(Can't wait to see you and Scott, Judi!!)

Fran posted this on their club thread. Maybe they will have some tire

info soon!

Tires depend on how wet or dry the track is. I would have Holeshots, Ifmar pins, Ifmar studs on hand. I have had really good success with Reptiles in the past and Komodo Dragon tires will work well also. Unless something changed the track does not hold together well (not run on enough to pack it properly) and they need to keep it wet or it will crumble. As a result you will be looking at larger lug tires most of the time. This track will not groove.

We have the Shoot-Out results on the web site.

A BIG Thank You to Jason, SoCalLosiRacer for allowing us to use

the pictures he took. Please be sure to visit his site, he has some

really great pictures up.

Casper did have a good day too. The results aren't up on the SoCal

site yet, wonder why??? Usually they are up right after racing.

Nate was running the show at So Cal this weekend. I think Slim is the one who updates the web site. I am sure the results will be up there soon.

Keith had a great run going and broke a wheel pin. He had issues all day with getting the bugs out of the truck but better stuff like this happens on a club day then at the JBRL points race day!

Clara got her first taste of Banzai power yesterday and it propelled her to her first podium finish! Not too bad considering this was only her 4th race event and maybe her 7th time at the track! If I can keep her truck together for her she will have a lot more plaques to take home here in the future!

Yep, she was faster than most of the other trucks out there, and so were the Boices . My problem was the big double, I would hit it just right to land perfectly smooth, but would have too much speed because of it and would spin out in the turn, how I lost 1st and 2nd. After that I would just floor it and land a little harder to scrub off speed, and that seemed to work to my advantage.

I know it's hard to believe, but the JBRL race at Camarillo is

this week-end! But it's GOT to be cooler there than it is here!

We're cooking!

I'll be bringing motors, brushes, and all the goodies in the "Magic"

purse!

If anyone needs something special, please email me.

Scott and I will be there sometime Saturday! And all of you better

look out, he is planning on racing!!

Oh NO!!!!! Please tell me he is going to race stock truck. I am not racing that class this year so I cannot be fired by beating him!!!

In all seriousness it will be great to see Scott back in action. I am sure he is happy to log some laps again as well. As always let me know what I can do to help. I am not sure what I can do with one of those AE trucks but I will help out where I can!

10 Day weather.com forecast says it will be a high of 69! That has to be the coldest spot in america right now! The high for the next 10 days will only be 79. With weather like that I might have to move up there!

I just told him what you said the temp was, and he said we

may be leaving for Camarillo tomorrow!

I offered to wrench on his car, cut comms on his motors, and charge

his batteries, but he didn't seem to interested! So, I guess I'll

just be a gad-fly and visit with everyone!

I'll charge Scott's batteries.... Looking forward to seeing you guys up there. Sounds like I should bring my jacket as it's gonna be a cold 70 degrees I'll believe the temperature when I see/feel it, but I hope the weatherman is right on this one....

Default Good Luck at the JBRL

Hey guys,

Just wanted to wish the team (and friends of the team) good luck at Camarillo this weekend. I'm sure with Banzai Mom/Dad in attendance everyone will have plenty of power. I just hope that Scott goes out there and punches it and takes out anyone that may be a "contender." If ever you've had a good excuse for being rusty, this is it. Use the power of the apology.

Also, I just picked up some GP 3300s from Slingshot and I gotta tell ya that if you are lookin for power on a budget you need to talk to Keith about it. They are the perfect battery for offroad racing and I'm probably going to buy more the next chance I get (if he has any left). Good price, good power, and you can beat the living daylights out of them without them blowing on you. I just built/broke them in and I will definitely be running them at stock nats this weekend. You guys should all check um out.

P.S. Losi fans keep on the lookout for an ancient asian mythical creature at future JBRL offroad races. Camarillo is a bit far from it's home land but I have received word that the rarely seen creature known as a "Todgimoto" may have migrated onto the land upon which one of the races will be held. I'll keep you posted if I receive any breaking news on the story.

Drive it like your ex-wife is following you with the deed to half your stuff;

And I'll see you at the races.
