Yeah I will check it out, it may be awhile since they don';t let me run stock anymore but I will do the same on the Money Motor. I had a brush break and Ray had to cut a lot off the comm last wed.

run whatever motor you want, as long as you're in the class that you belong. If I remember correctly, last year at cactus half of the a main in mod were running 19t or 5 cell mod. take that.

Hey guys!! ( Insert whistle here, indicating a time-out),

I love you all, but please, take the FHR racing stuff to

their thread.

I pay for this thread, and I'd like it to stay on Banzai

related items.

Thanks very much!

Judi

Springs will help control brush bounce. They can be very important depending on which classes you run. 12th scale motors should run different springs then TC or offroad motors. I personally never replace my springs. Some say the springs can get heat treated and should be repalced fairly often. I personally do not share that feeling. I will change springs to change the performance of a motor. Scott may correct me on this but a stiff spring can give a motor a little more bottom end. Lighter springs produce less drag so the motor will spin faster giving a little more top end but not enough spring will cause excessive brush bounce which causes arcing of the brush to the comm which will wear out the comm faster.

Bottom line-- Scott and Judi picked out the right springs for you already. This is one of the many little things that make Banzai the best around!

Thanks Casper, that's perfect. Another reason they put a lighter spring on a 12th scale motor is, with "less drag" there is "less amp draw", allowing them to make run time in an 8 min. race.

On my motors, I never change springs unless I notice a drop off in performance. After installing thousands of springs, you kind of get a feel, if one feels weak or not.
