The $$$ Motor is a COMPLETELY different motor!

Those brushes are meant to run a LONG time, especially

if you are using the Infinity brushes. 20-30 runs.

We're talking stock here, and a different companies motors.

Stock motors need to be cut and re-brushed as Casper

explained in his above post.

You're comparing apples and oranges.

The infinity brushes on a money motor will last almost forever! (very well named brushes!) They produce very consistant performance all the way down to about 1/2 stock length as long as they do not get burnt You may need to adjust the springs to compensate for the shorter brushes though as they wear. In a 19T motor they may even last the life of the motor with very little change in performance. (mod motors are harder on brushes) No one makes a "square" brush that does this. The XXX brush does last a long time with a slight hit in power but they do last a long time. I have left them in a motor for 3-4 cuts with very little change in performance. The 766, 4499 brushes do not last much more then 10 runs tops and the 767 about 6 runs. I have not played with reserrating them or cutting them much but once the brushes change colors they really should be replaced.

First heat I was all over the place with my 19t. 2nd heat I TQ'd with a stock motor by 8 seconds on Bill's 19t time, would have beat Smalley by like .3 seconds for the TQ in stock. People were calling me a cheater for running stock in mod so I through in the modified, crashed early and kept working my way up, need more practice with it though.
Hey Johnny,
That's just silly. I thought Mod meant "open" as far as motors went.
Oh well. Maybe you should ask the good people here to whip you up a nice 26 turn motor, that would be mod for sure!

Sounds like the same gang that blame loosing on the marshalls to me.

They were just upset they were being beat with a stock motor. There are no rules that say you cannot run a "stock" motor in modified classes! It is hard for people to understand the more power does not always mean faster lap times. There is a very small percentage of drivers where this type of releation applies. Most "normal" racers will be much more consistant with a slower motor which means there overall times will be faster due to less mistakes. If you watch a world class driver carefully you will notice they only go as fast as the track will allow. The car is always in control. This is hard to do with lower turn motors. Under control is always faster!

Not sure I understand what's going on in here,

especially with "whatever" happened at SoCal!

I'll agree with Casper, mod, you can run anything, don't

think I've ever seen any rule on that!

Also don't think the "good people" here will wind you a 26 turn,

only use for that is cheating!

Could we move on to JBRL races and the Cactus???

At least I KNOW what's going on there!!

I'll grab one of the old hand-out mods (hot pink and bright green cans) and run those in mod. Probably wouldn't be as good as my stock motor though, and would probably turn the bearings into dust.

Sorry I have two motors and Money Motor 19T and a butt slow CO27 by Trinity.

I moved on from Stock to Mod a month ago or so and never ran the stock again until Saturday, then I saw how slooooow it was so I figured I need a new stock motor.

Unless Ray can breathe some life in to it, but since he got his stuff jacked I'm not so sure.

It sounds like new brushes are in order. Stock will feel a little slow compared to a good 19T motor. They slow down more in the corners and do not pick up as hard out of the corners. You should be able to carry more speed in the infield with them though. Get the comm skimmed again and put some 767 or 766 brushes Dave should have in the shop and see how it goes. Make sure the brushes move freely in the hoods before you put the brush springs on. Do not worry about aligning hoods or anything special like that. Just work on the basics and it should run fine. Not as good as a banzai but it should run better with a new set of brushes.
