Well, I guess we'll just leave it up to Jimmy!

I can only speak for our small company. If I forgot

to bring motors to the track, and one of my guys needed a

motor, I would have NO problem telling them to go into

the store and get one! Stock, 19t or mod. Last year

we had a lot of guys make the top 10 with our store motors,

and the Shoot-Out!!! I'm in the business to sell motors, and I sure

can't keep all of them for the team!! They go on the shelf, or I bring

them to tracks that don't have a store and they can get one from

me.

If people spent half as much time at the track practicing, and worked

on set-ups, they'd be right up there having sponsors looking at them!

That's all I can do for my part!

Sorry James, but I'd put my motors and drivers up against

ANY of the companies you mentioned. In fact, Jeremy

Felles is racing factory with our motors! And they race

against those drivers and WIN! Just ask any of our drivers

who raced against 19t and stock for other BIG teams!

thats what votes are for and Long live the opportunity for us to decide
Sorry to have 'started' something but, I was just bringing my ever eavesdropping ear(I do have one good one) to the table for a possibilty.

I'm sure this sort of thing (my two cents, or any one's), is exactly what Casper does not want and or need right now.
Sorry bud, hope it doesnt snowball

Wasnt knocking your motors Judi as I feel they are the best and thats why I use them. The difference is these guys have unlimmited supply of parts while others do not. I only used the T word as an example and know Felles puts the smack down on others. I was only pointing out that FULL FACTORY drivers should race other FULL FACTORY drivers and anyone choosing to move up may do so. However, sponsered drivers that dont get unlimited supplies should not be forced up to that level.

Oh and thats why I said Thin Lizzy motors, I heard they werent that good

Jimmy will listen if anyone feels there is an issue, or someone

should be moved. You can't force someone to run mod, if

their sponsor "tells" them to run 19t. The definition of "full

factory" also gets "muddied" up. Is that paid or not paid, just

free stuff? It's been debated endlessly in the on-road section,

and will again with the Snowbirds coming up.

The good thing about Jimmys races is that we don't have to

wait a year for rules, we don't have to wait for a committee,

and Jimmy's at all the races to make immediate calls!

And now, he's letting us vote on some of the issues!!

So guys, GO VOTE!!!!!!!!

As far as 'One from the shop' motors,(like if you forgot one), Ive got ALL the confidence in the world that your 'shop' stuff works? I've addopted the Keith attitude........
I have been taking THE least RPM motors when I order from you Judi,
Or what I would consider the 'least' of the #'s
LOVE em!!!! Guys go crazy for the good stuff, but like you said, PRACTICE,(and not being on your lid) makes up for ALL the 'factory' stuff in the world.

These guys still buy there own gear and pay there own way and many work hard for their sponsers in other ways that the top level drivers do not.

There is a difference that should be taken into consideration. Being sponsered by Trinity and losi is not the same as being sponsered by JoJo's batteries and Thin lizzy motors. Ithink that level of sponsership should race with the masses while the full factory should not.
Well, I kind of agree The thing is, "factory" drivers were once in the same place you, me and a lot of others are at now. So how do you think they got there? They worked their way up by racing WITH THE PROS even though they may have not had "unlimited" supply of tires, cars, parts batteries, etc. Making the A-main at a Nationals event without major sponsorship is how you get the major sponsorship(it happened at this years ROAR Mod Nats) I get a major kick out of racing with the "big boys". Back in the early to mid 90's, there was only novice, sportsman and expert. Stock or Mod. Thats all. Cactus was only Stock or Modified (truck, 2wd and 4wd). There wasnt a 19T class (beginners modified? ). I started running expert classes my second year racing (its a much faster learning curve running with fast guys all the time) I used to be fully sponsored by Team Losi (no travel though ) did it make me faster? NOPE. Did it help? Sure. It saved me some money I guess what I'm trying to say, is that you dont need boxes of parts and the most expensive motors and batteries to be competitive (everyone seems to think you do). Dont tell yourself that you dont have a chance because you dont have everything they do, DRIVING IS 90% of doing well. Just go out and do the best YOU can, no matter who's in your class (whether you think its fair or not) You never know, you just might come out on top!

I guess I am kind of confused on the issue here? Are you worried about sandbaggers who drive sportsman when there is an expert or are you thiking some people should just give up stock racing and move on to modified?

Since my name came up (not picking on you either Dave! ) If there is a pro or expert class to run I will sign up for it. I have been doing that for the last 5-6 years. Well before I ever got any help. I personally do not like racing mod. I really enjoy stock and 19T racing. Tires last longer, diffs last longer, parts last longer. I feel the competition is tighter. Some larger events only hold an open stk class. Does that mean I should not be allowed to race at that event? I have raced against full factory drivers in stk classes in open events. These are questions not easily answered. I do my best to take the high road when signing up. I will run open classes at gas (sorry mom) events since expert in "those" events is full of factory drivers. Could I compete. I will not be totally in the way but considering I race those things 2-3 times a year I still have lots to learn. If there is an expert class away from factory I will sign up for that. I did it at the Nitro Chanllange.

If you are using NASCAR analogies. They are called busch wackers. If we are going by those rules then I could double dip. I can run sportsman and pro stk in the same event and go for both wins. I agree this is an issue. Another Poll I should add is expert 19T classes. Jimmy has thought of this as well.

As far as Jimmy goes he is one of the fairest guys I know out there. He has NO problems moving guys up a class. He does his best.

I also agree with Steve. Practice is a bigger deliniator then motors and batteries. To be fast requires practice. Track time is more important then equipement with these things. NASCAR equipment plays a big part when you are going in circles.

I guess I am looking for an answer to the first question. Should drivers be kicked out of stock?

My vote no. That is what expert stock is for. I personally really enjoy the class. I truely appreciate my sponsers and do everything I can to earn my keep with on and off the track performance. Just becasue someone gets help does that mean they cannot have fun anymore? Mod is not fun for me.

I know this was not an attack on me (at least I think not ) but these are issues that do not have a black and white answer.

No never kicked out of Stock
Just, like you said, have a Pro stock.
I think Its cool of you to take the"high road' When entering, most guys would not do that.
And Yes they ARE busch wackers, Or Glory hounds

I apologize for opening this can of worms.
I was just curious, It seems as mom said, to be an ONgoing and MUDDY area to deal with.

Good points all! I have one more thing to add, and then

I think we'll leave it to Jimmy and Casper to add a poll, or

whatever Jimmy thinks.

One of the things we are most proud of is the fact that none

of our drivers have had factory help when they won Norrca or

Roar or Cactus or Reedy Championships! Most only had motors,

some not even batteries. Jeremy ONLY got factory help last

year when he went to work there, and look at his resume!!

Some had "tips" from factory drivers, we all know most of them

here in California. I even think we accidentally lost some results

on the page when we were re-doing it, have to find them again!

We had a couple drivers who left R/C, and after MANY years were

trying to get back and came to us for motors. They won, and got

back to factory status! Because we don't pay drivers here, they

went on with our blessings!!

You can do it, if you practice, learn set-ups, and do a lot of racing!

I've seen Jeremy win with equipment I wasn't sure would last until

the end of the race!!!!!!!! He can drive!!!!!!!!!!

So, do your part, and especially go vote on all the polls Casper

and Jimmy put up!!

Now, on to the Cactus!!!!!!

I think last year SRS put a list of the entries that made

it in on their web-site. If you guys see it there,

let us all know!!
