Default 3000Hv help disharging

Hi
I was woundering when I discharge my 3000's hv and smh what do I do with them. I have been taking them down to 5.5 volts and levign them there till next sat. At the track I do the same thing inbetween runs but put it on the tray to till the lights go out then change to get a full chage. Is this the right thing to do? I am chargiing at 5 amps with a threshold of 5 on a millenium..

THanks for your your help,

Drop by the SMC RACING SITE for Charging and Maintenance of your Packs.

Basically your treatment of the HV and SMH cells will be a little different. Volt thresholds are very different. .07 for HV and .02 for SMH.

charging question:

I'm using Robitronics Pro 2K+ charger and threshold value is like 4 - 20. When you say .07 - is that .07mv or 7mv? And is that value for one cell or for the entire pack? I'm a bit confused on how to translate your T35 values (I'm assuming your using CE) into my charger's values ... please help.

Exclamation

What he said is .07V delta peak for 6 cells NiCad pack. Single cell delta peak voltage is .012V for most NiCad cells

thanks for the info, ed ... that would 12mv cutoff on my Robi since it's selectable value is for each cell.

BTW, SMH cells has different delta peak compare to HV cells

SMH delta peak at 0.02V for 6 cells pack. So single cells detla peak is 3.33mv.
If you set your delta peak to 12mv for SMH cells then you will overcharge the pack!
