whats the best battery

I'm running 13.5 rubber on carpet with some old 4200's and am ready to get new batt. but don't know anything about lipo's. What would give the best punch for the TC, lipo's (if so, which one and why?) or nimh?

I haven't gone LiPo yet but the EnrG 4600 NiMH's are awesome cells.

I'm ready to get a lipo, but I just wish somebody would explain what the C rating is on the lipo's. And if higher numbers are better for stock or mod?

C rating is the constant discharge rate... ok heres how ill explain it the higher the C rating the better...

ok so you have 2 200lb men... one is 90% muscle and is in shape and the other is 30% muscle and in not so good of shape...

So when you nail that throttle and things get going though which one do you want going for you? of course the one with the higher C rating is takin it and beggin for more on the other hand the not so in good of shape guy is saying lets slow down and taking it easy...

I'd take these batteries my self.... I'm going to be running them in my 8T soon... http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=SUM6028LD

What about the new 40c 5200mah, wouldn't that be a more powerful battery?

In limited motor classes like 13.5 and 17.5 it seems like our 40C packs don't really run faster than our lower C rate packs. Were not sure why this is the case and were trying to figure this out.

Some of our drivers have been testing the 6000/28C pack and it's been running very well on the track.

so your saying I will get better performance from the 28c then the 40c in the 13.5 class. OK i think I'm more confused now, but atleast I know which to buy. Thanks for the reply.

I'm not saying that it's better but were seeing that it's as good and I know it's confusing and trust me we find this strange but that is what were seeing on the track.

When we test higher C rate packs in higher amp draw conditions the higher C rate is better but in the 13.5 class it seems like theres not enough amp draw to make a difference. This means you can save 35 bucks and get a 6000 and be very competitive.

Thanks for the info and saving money is always a good thing!

I have been in research mode for the past few days and this thread made more sense to me concerning lipo battery types. I bought the SMC 7.4V 5000mAh Lithium Polymer 24C, basically the SMC 2S1P. I was unsure about the C type even as a buddy of mine explained to me what it was. I am using this battery in my soon to be arriving XXXT-CR 13.5 truck and also my Spec Slash truck. From what I gather, all and all this battery will suite me well. Any argue this? Any pro's or con's one would expect? I tend to build a brand loyalty quite fast and SMC is my first Lipo and I would expect upon results and feedback that it won't be the last.
