Just started playing with mini z awd.using ma-010 chassis.kinda hard to find people to share tips n stuff..so feel free to share here..
I also have 2 mainly. I play with my kids in hse or at Sengkang Multistorey carpark.
Nice!I'm staying at Punggol Place, just playing in my house mainly on the wood surface. Bought it basically cos i know i won't have the time to play outside. Practically a hobby for dads hahah. so you got 2 ma010 chassis? Read sumwhere that the other rear driven chassis can also drift though quite hard to.
ya, it is mainly for Dad's drifting.
I had never tried or buy any rear wheel drive, but wanted to buy the mr-02 when they r having offer. but was stopped by my "CFO" HEHE.. saying tat I have too many cars.. Presently, i had 3 ma-10 which 1 of them under maintenance for changing the motor.. |
Ahh...my "CFO" also the same lah..now resort to buying stuff thru my brother hahah. I'm a sucker for the autoscale bodies  Eh,you know anything about FET stacking? I'm not sure if I have to do any mods to the FETs if I wanna change the motor for my set..
To be on the safe side, x-speed on stock fets are fine. Changing to a bearing motor can will increase performance quite a bit.
Running a Atomic Stock is marginal because the condition (efficiency) of your drive train will be an issue. It might get away if your drive train is really smooth and quiet. Also not forgetting the gear ratios you run. Any hotter motor for sure will need fetting. Cheers!! |
Thanks Kerk! There are so many aftermarket motors available(and their so much cheaper ;) )..not sure which ones require me to mod my FETs(more interested in those that actually don't require any FETs modding) think i'll stick to x speed since its a sure thing...instead of ending up with a "POOF!" from my board. Oh yeah..btw do you know if those slot car motors can be used? You know those tamiya hyperdash, hyper mini, turbo dash motors..
Ya. also hope to knw if i change motors will it fry my board..
Not familiar with Tamiya motors. Some of them sure are fast.
One thing for sure, motor with less than 40 turns requires upgraded fets. On the MA-010, the most you can put is 2 layers of fet without any modifications for the top cover. Anything more, you will need to cut out holes for them to clear. Even with 2 layers, they are so close to the top cover that you will notice some sagging of the cover were the fets are, due to the heat. Maybe you can get in touch with Atomic Collective to check out your options. Cheers!! |
Thanks again Kerk! Read quite a few articles saying the stock 3010 fets on the ASF boards are enough for most of the aftermarket motors...not brave enough to test on my set just yet..I guess for now just happy doing figure 8s in my room hahah
Kfatt atomicmods.com has a listing of which motors require modded fets and which don't.chect it out! |
