Actually it would be entirely up to u...for the availability issue, HPI has 2 shops, one in Tampines and the other one in Jurong, which happens to be at the 2 extreme ends of Singapore.
The more popular models people go for in Singapore would be the V One R/S, MTX-2 and the Impulse in order of popularity... If u are thinking of buying something back to Oz, then u better check your LHS and see what they support.
Basically, all the 1/10th belt driven touring cars are almost similiar, most important matter would be the availability of parts...

Both Kyosho and HPI are supported fairly well at my LHS.

What would be the best places to buy engines.. specifcally OS..

I wanna get a 12cvrx or the 15cvrx if it comes out in time..

How much you guys reckon it would be...

the 15cvr is out on the streets......u can get it at Auntie Winnie's place for 220 smuckeroos. cheap and good i say. the 12tr is a soon to released engine, maybe in late Sept. have never see a pullstart 12cvr or 15cvr though.

220 smuckeroos huh hurhur...hmmm...may juz consider this...but will have to wait for the 12TR to be out first...think the pilot shaft version should be around the same price for the both of them...

12TR
For the benifit of those who have not seen it, here u are...

15CVR

According to the OS engines wesite they have pull start version of the 12cvr but they don't even mention the 15cvr or the 12TR.

What are the pilot shaft versions.. how are they diff from standard.

Anyone know how the prices of RC stuff is in Malaysia... ?

Is Radio equipment cheap in either SG or Malay ?
Anyone know of any good shops.
I am after a basic FM wheel radio.. I currently have a very basic stick futuba

Don't wanna spend too much oney.

If i buy stuff from there.. is it leagal to use it in Aus

PenT,

wat car are u intending to put the engine in? if its a 1/10, u cant put a pullstarter in it for the very simple reason that the recoil system will be in the way of the pulley system.

the pilot shaft versions are we call the SG "serpent" shaft, the shaft is longer than the standard ones. The SG shaft engines are good for people who want centax clutches. Of cos, u can use a normal clutch system on SG shaft engines too.

I believe Singapore and HongKong are the best place in Asia outside Japan to get your RC stuff. I have seen a shop in KL, Msia selling M8s and they cost a bomb.

Are u looking for a nitro car? I have a hopped up Kyosho FW04 which I am letting go. If u are interested, pls drop me a mail.

I haven't fully decided.. it will be a nitro 1/10 scale..

either an offroad or on road..
I will eventually get both.. but havenm't decide what to get first

either a V-one-S or an HPI MT racer..

Thanks for the offer..but.. i have my heart set on something else..

I prefer pull starts since I don't have to lug around a starter..(which I will have to purchase as well )

I was hoping to get a powerful motor such as the 15cvr if it came in a pull start.

Don't know much about other engines.. other than they cost and arm and a leg.. for a really good one..

Good choice for the both of them if you are just getting it for driving them round your car park for leisure purposes. But I must remind you that both the cars are considered the "Sports" series... if you intend to hop up the car till it's the racing version, it's gona cost much more than the original racing kit itself!

Anyway, that was just a comment...U could race with these cars as well...the V one S is a fine car...tell us more about it after u've run it...

Happy racing...
