Default Any off road tracks in Singapore?????

Hi everybody,I'm going to be in Singapore for a week in September and was wandering if it's worth bringing my schumacher cat 3000, and fireblade EVO. I did a search in rc car action in Singapore and didn't see any off road tracks. If anyone can give me any info on this it would be greatly appreciated. If there are any and if so whcih are the best?? Here are a couple pics of my tracks

Thanks

Hello welcome to singapore!

I believe there are three Off road tracks that I can think of.

1. Sentosa Island (South of Singapore)
2. Tampines (East)
3. Choa Chu Kang (West)

I believe the Off Road peeps here will provide you more. Goodluck!

From what I know there isn't a permanent track for offroad in Singapore - nothing like what you have.

The 3 or 4 that most of us know about are in:

1. Sentosa - a newly laid track recently but soon to be removed? ... see phlim's response in thread Marine Parade RCMC thread

There is a thread dedicated to this track with some pics: Sentosa Track Pics

2. Woodlands - there are many threads on this but the guys that know best (I think) are in the following thread:EPMTs thread.

3. Tuas - there is a long discussion on this ... still trying to secure land ... Tuas Off Road

4. Tampines is actually a BMX track with some open space further in where the some folks fly their RC aircraft. This is probably the most "permanent" of the places.

On a brighter side, there are several on-road tracks in Singapore if you play on-road.

Hope you will enjoy your stay here!

My 2c.

Hi midnight oil

Those tracks u shown r what we off-roaders here hv been
pining 4. There's supposed 2 b a permanent off-road track
in the pipeline, 4 3 months oldlady - still waiting.

Meanwhile, below r the temporary tracks available.

1. Sentosa Island - technical bumpy beach sand track with plywood ramps(tentatively there will b a race on 21 Sep 03).
Properly laid out track for off-road R/C racing with amenities
such as toilet, driver-stand, tables, chairs & even power point.
This is 1 of the potential location of a future permanent track.
But, due 2 lack of racers going there as there's an entry fee
of S$2/person & S$2/vehicle, the chances is very slim.

2. Woodlands Ave 2 - pls refer 2 "TNT - MONSTER TRUCKING" thread 4 pic of track. This is more of a high speed track, rather flat, hard packed surface. Simple track layout with amenities
within walking distance.

3. Tampines - this IS a BMX track with many killer natural ramps
meant 4 BMX bikes. There's no track layout 4 R/C vehicles or
amenities, not even nearby. Risk of interference 2 R/C planes flying site 100 meters away.

Well, take ur pick. They aren't that good compared 2 yours, but
still u will hv fun.

Thanks for the great response guys, that really gives me a good idea of what you have. I've only been to Singapore once and was really impressed in many ways and especially by the peoples hospitality. You have a great country that you should be proud of. I will be staying at the Swissotel, you know the tallest hotel in Singapore LOL. Anyway Which track do you guys think is the closest? I imagine they are all pretty close since it's no to big of a city, but any idea which would be the most convenient??? Also any hobby shops in Singapore worth checking out?? How do the prices compare with RC items??

Thanks for the fast response everybody.

Alright oily

U chose the rite place 2 stay. U can find 1 of our top off-road
racer there. Just ask 4 Hua Tai Heng @ the front desk.

I guess ur Schumacher & AE r stadium trucks ?. Afraid they r
not common locally. We r more in buggy & monster.

U've got P.M.

KK-racing the schumacher cars I have are the fireblade which is a 2wd buggy and cat 3000, which is an amazing electric 4wd buggy.

Hellangle, yeah I figured if they did carry schui it would only be on road, but thanks for the info anyway. I also have a b4 and it sounds like a bunch of shops carry parts for it there, so that's cool.

Would you guys say is the most populer class in singapore???
