hmm.. been out for quite awhile already mah isn't it?

I have been helping with my friend's Hyper8 for about 5 months now.

The stock pipe and engine is quite terrible.

I believe the engine is basically a hobao .21 normal crank case being fitted with a "thinner" but larger Inner Diameter(.28) liner and a .28 piston.
Exhust tempretures seems to be excessively high in my scenario.

But other than that, overall the buggy is fine. If you want to get a Hyper8 package, avoid the RTR and get the Pro Kit instead. Becuase my friend have been spending on almost every replacement and hopup parts that a Pro Kit already have, could have just bought a Hyper8 Pro Kit from the start and save the extra costs and trouble.
Most of the RTR Hyper8 components are very weak.

oh ya.. that "low profile" airfilter isn't very good. Lots of Dirt and grim easily made it way into the inner foam element. Well, so far.. haven't found any solutions for my friend as it isn't posing a big problem. But sooner or later, it will really give problems.

But if you were to want to get a Hobao buggy, my honest opinion - Get a Hyper7 package instead.

I've heard that before as well. They say it is more stable on the track as well

Talking Inline Pipe of Hyper8 Pro Kit

Hi All

Any one here have experience on the inline pipe that comes with the Hyper8 Pro Kit? Is it good enough for my Nosram .21 engine? Any recommendation on good pipe for that engine?

By the way, do we put the venturi on the engine or we take it out for more power when running?

Thanks.

So is there problem using the Hyper8 pipe? Less power? I have a RB2006 pipe but have not tested on it yet as I just break in the engine.

I also heard JP3 pipe is powerful... but how is the fuel consumption then?

Any suggestions for using the venturi or not?

u can try the JP3 pipe...seen in action and is also cooler for the power plant..fuel consumption think should be ok....venturi can use the 9mm or 8mm which will able to perform leh..

Can take out the venturi totally? More power right? Any harm to the engine?
