RCMC Singapore - 1/8th GP/GT Sprint Series Trial – FREE ENTRY FOR RCMCSG MEMBERS

Thanks to the requests of the racing and player fraternity of Singapore, RCMC Singapore are going to run a SPRINT Race this Sunday from 1pm, once the local road opens.

This is a trial run of a SPRINT Race format that we are considering establishing in complement of the RCMC Singapore National Series to enable new comers and hard-core racers alike to enjoy the competition, in a less stressful and fun environment!

We offer this specific trial race FOR FREE to RCMCSG Members thanks to volunteers running the event in their spare time. We won’t be racing for trophies this time around, but if it’s successful and liked by everyone, we will develop it into a series.

In the future we will run 2 SPRINTs on a Sunday, one in the morning, one identical in the afternoon. You’ll be free to race at both, or just one event, enabling people with limited time on a Sunday to join in with the spirit of racing!

Why is SPRINT Racing fun? It adds a dynamic of race management that a traditional set race format doesn’t offer. You choose when to run in the 30minute open Qualifying, and for how long. If the track is little damp, do you go out and set some steady safe laps to get pole (perhaps the track will worsen??) or do you wait for the track to dry completely (Maybe it’ll worsen!)? Its your call… Waiting for the right moment to hit the track will be critical to your success! You can run with a pit man, you can just run a tank of fuel on the track and re-tweak your car for another run 5 mins later, it’s your choice.

The race format and how we run it on the day depends on attendees, and it’ll evolve depending on YOUR FEEDBACK.

Venue: East Coast R/C Race Track [PA Track] - Layout A - CLOCKWISE

Sprint Race #1 – 1.00pm to 5.30pm

Race Format:

Qualifying: 2 x 30-minute Qualifying Slots per class (Open Format) See Below. Fastest 3 consecutive laps to count. Classes will be separated (1/8th GP & GT)

Finals: Sprint Finals A to C (as required). A-Final 20mins, B-Final 15mins

Time slots:

Sprint Race #2 (Afternoon)

1.00pm to 2.55pm – Open Practice (all classes)

2.00pm to 2.25pm – Qualifying Slot GT #1

2.30am to 2.55pm – Qualifying Slot GP #1

3.00pm to 3.25pm – Qualifying Slot GT #2

3.30pm to 4.00pm – Qualifying Slot GP #2



4.15pm to 4.30pm – Sprint Final GT B

4.35pm to 4.50pm – Sprint Final GP B

5.00pm to 5.20pm – Sprint Final GT A

5.30pm to 5.50pm -Sprint Final GP A

NOTE: Timing Subject to number of attendees, weather. Intelligent flexibility will be applied.

Class Rules:
1/8 GP On-road nitro -- Engine: 3.5cc 2 stroke engine; Tank: 125cc; INS BOX must be used; General IFMAR rules applied (for cars)

1/8 GT nitro -- Engine: 3.5cc 2 stroke engine; Tank: 150cc, Tires: Rubber (non-foam); General IFMAR rules applied (for cars)

Entry Fee:

FREE ENTRY FOR ALL CLASSES TO MEMBERS OF RCMCSG

NON-Members: $30 per class

The Race is CONFIRMED. Will we run it regardless of entry numbers.
