I haven't been to look at the lot that Futureals new shop will be at,. But knowing how they 'cram' all those lil shops in along the 101/CoatsHighway, space is very limited.. not to mention, parking is usually limited... but hey, anything is possible,.. rite?..

I don't think there's enough space there to stage a parking lot race, unfortunately. There are already a few parking lot tracks in the San Diego vicinity so I am not too worried about that.

There is actually plenty of parking for the store, though. There are two back lots (both on hills, making them unsuitable for racing) as well as the parking along the front of the boardwalk. The store doesn't face the 101 but is set back in a courtyard a little ways.

The store is small but will be focused on R/C cars specifically, and even moreso on racing stuff. Within 6-8 months we should have full lines of support parts for every popular on-road and off-road vehicle. Once our inventory is built up and things are running smoothly, we'll be focusing on finding an ideal location for a track.

I would caution people not to check it out just yet, since it is still about 4 weeks away from opening. We knocked down a wall and stripped out all the old carpeting, right now they are down there painting things and it's getting new carpet later this week.

It's just a hole in the wall, but it will be a nice hole in the wall.

Its a good idea. WE do really need a track here in Southern California or San Deigo area. Will it be a ROAR track??

futureal - Just an idea but if you wanted to up sales a bit once you get going, you could add an online shop to Rctech.

fatdoggy: When we do branch into online sales, it won't actually be a part of R/C Tech, or at least not for a long time. I feel that attaching a shop to the site might change the atmosphere for the worse, and I like things the way they are here right now. I will of course grant myself a Commercial Forum and a banner ad for the store, though...

TCRacerPro: Not sure if it will end up as a ROAR track when it does happen, it really depends on the cost of liability insurance and the building we are in. The main advantage of requiring ROAR membership is that they cover your races under their umbrella insurance policy.

That would be really cool to have an online shop. Im sure it would help increase the profit by allowing more people to purchase from your shop.

There are many scripts online that can make this very simple to run and set up online.

We (by which I mean me) are writing the software from scratch to run the online shop. When it does arrive, it should be the best R/C shop anywhere.

The more successful we are, the sooner San Diego gets a track!
