Default January 2004 - The Mini Nats Pottbelly's (Pittsgrove, NJ)

Since the Mini class is getting revitalized this year with Yokomo and X-Ray, we at Pottbelly's decided to pay homage to a departed track and revive a classic event...Of course, we had to add our own flair

So here goes:

We haven't firmed up a date yet, but as of now this is the plan for the event - more details to follow:

Tamiya Mini
* Kit silver can motor, and Trinity Spec 6cell pack, Mini wheels, rubber "mini" sized tires (no foam). Tamiya M03, M03L, M01/02 chassis only.
* Run for 6 minutes qualifiers and 6 minute mains

Open Mini
* The "big boys" - Open Chassis (Yokomo, HPI, XRay, Tamiya M03/M04, Home built). Full size touring tires (open either rubber or foam), 4 cell max battery, open motor.
* 6-minute qualifiers and mains

Micro
* Normal rules apply. Open motor (no 540 size), 6 cell max. Open wheel
* 8-minutes qualifiers and mains

1/12 Pan (if enough interest - need 6 for class)
* Open motor, 4 cell max, LMP/GTP bodies
* 8-minute qualifiers and mains

3 Rounds of Qualifying and Mains...A One Day event

Trophies for 1-3 in the A-Mains and plaques for 4-10 in "A"
Trophies 1-2-3 in each sub main

Entry fee still needs to be determined and we will have early registration. We will offer a discount for registering early. T-Shirts will be made up for the event, and the first 50 entries will get 1 included with their sign-up.

We already got one big name sponsor on board - and have spoken to/or received interest from a couple others...If you are interesting in sponsoring the event, please shoot me an email ([email protected])

Stay tuned for more details

Also, if you have artist talents :-P I am looking for a cool logo (I have no artist talent whatsoever) for the T-Shirts :-P

You will get full credit for the logo and it will be on the T-Shirt and Trophies/Plaques

Email you offerings to me - and our expert panel will review them and the winner will be notified in mid-December

Check out our website at http://www.pottbellysrc.com

You asked for it, now you got it - so come do it

In an effort to get more people (especially mini coopers) out for the Mini Nats, I've decided to change the battery rule for this class.

The orginial rule called for *only* Trinity Spec packs (either the older packs or the new packs). To hopefully draw out more Tamiya Mini owners, we going to change the rule to 1700 Mah AND UNDER sport stick packs...They have to be UNMATCHED sport packs!!

This should keep the field level and still open up the opportunity for more Tamiya Mini owners to come out racing...The ORL gives a one race exemption, so I'm gonna do the same This will also keep racers from having to buy new battery packs just for one event

ok...

In the spirit of the Christmas season, I'm gonna make a change to the Mini Nats....

For ALL ENTRIES RECEIVED BY JAN 5th 2004, the entry fee will be $25 for the first class and $15 for each additional entry. But I have to have the entry form and money in my hands by the 5th...And entries after then will be the "full price" (Mini-T racers are not in that figure - just the classes going for the trophies)

If you have a 4wd Mini (HPI, Yokomo, X-RAY, CORALLY, etc), please contact me for a reduce entry fee...the 4wd mini class is kinda hurting in the area and maybe we need to kick start it

Email me at [email protected] or PM me here

It's cool you guys are bringing the mini nats back. Is Greg Sharpe still racing? It was Greg and myself that put together the first mini nats right under Ray's nose there at the old Etown track. He didn't know what the heck was going on when all those people started showing up Tell everyone that Matt Howard said hi, most people should remember me
