acer bearings and diff balls
hi im in a dilema as if i should purchase two sets of acer Ceramic Nitride Pro Series Differential Balls
but i dont know if these are anygood could any1 give me some good advice on these balls and how much of a performance inhance i will get from my pro4

well im running the acer breings in car i like them they just need to be broken in.

You really won't notice too much if any difference in performance by just running ceramic diff balls other than a smoother diff. The balls are lighter, stronger and last longer than the metal types. I have run mine for over a race season without having to replace them. They still look and perform as brand new. With these balls you won't have to rebuild you diff often but will go through diff rings faster!

If RC4less.com has your diff ball size, but them.....much cheaper and just as good. The Acer stuff is good, but VERY expensive.

the Rc4Less stuff is great for the price but isn't as high quality as the Accer stuff. Their bearings and dff balls are manufactured with to lowered specifications.

Ceramic diff/thrust bearings
I get ceramic Grade 3 diff and thrust balls for $1 each from the address below...I believe Bill had higher quality ceramic ball than other sources.

These balls make the smoothest of diffs. I rarely adjust them in comparison to what I have to do with the "good" Losi balls.
For me, diff rings wear about the same; but, maybe the thrust washers go a little quicker than with the Losi balls.
Bill also can supply a tube of "extreme high pressure grease" for the thrust bearings. I use it.

The acer units are grade 5.....rc4less diff balls are grade 3....the lower the grade the better.....goes 1, 3, 5, 10, 25....
Very few companies make the 1 stuff and the price is insane.....
No clue on their bearings.....just know about the diff balls.

I run them in my tc3 and they are great, they shipped them over here to the U.K pretty quick as well

Grading Diff Balls & Bearings
koabich, Eddie0 has the right info.
Our ceramic diff balls are ISO Grade 3 with a rockwell hardness of 92 which is at the top of the Rockwell "A" scale. They have a tolerance of -.00001. · 60% Lighter than Carbide and more Durable than Carbide I have a full discussion of them on the ceramic diff ball product page at the rc4less.com web site.
Our ceramic bearings are ABEC Grade 7.

Acer Ceramic bearings are grade 5 and I would highly recommend them.
