Default 1/10 scale Electric Truggies, any interest?

After seeing alittle "concept" vehicle that Dave at MRC put together, I was curious how many people would be interested in a 4wd 1/10 scale electric truggy? Seems like you get the benefits of 4wd as well as the ability to handle the rough stuff that 2wd trucks have right now. Also, with the Lipo / brushless thing getting bigger, combining the two you get some serious power put down with controllable 4wd and LONG runtimes.

I know I would be game for this to come out and run it. Would love to see an RTR version of what Dave posted with a brushless setup installed.

not really. there is enough trouble having a consistent 4wh class as it is. unless its close to the Cactus Classic or worlds. to have an extension of that i don't think is going to help. also nitro guys resist going to elec. or back to it or whatever their situation that i don't see many racers who would get into it. with the new 4wh that are out now, your not just driving a tricked out tourind car anymore. the 4wh can handle anything that a godd set-up buggy or truck can handle.

but that chassis does look really nice and well engineered.

I am not so sure about 4wd buggies handling all that the trucks do as after the 1/8 scales pound the track alot of times its pretty much only the trucks with there larger tires and suspensions that can handle the track. After running 4wd buggy and 2wd on tracks like that, I was wishing to slap some truck size wheels on it.

if your racing on a track that runs both scales i can see your point. but until recently we had a specific 1/10 track and that was not an issue. also with the way the 1/10 track here is built and 1/8 have been out it since early jan. it still is not an issue. i am not exactly sure but when i and others build the track for the Cactus Classic 1/8 may be suspended there until the race has been run. I haven't asked the owner yet, I think i will today so I know. it will affect how i build the track. plus we now as of monday have two tracks for 1/8 in town, so its not we would be shut down. just another 8 days of no sleep waiting for my qualifing rounds of the Nitro Challenge.

Thats cool that you guys have a track like that.

Out here its pretty much dual duty, and with the popularity in general of trucks in the good ol' USA who knows, it may surpass 1/10 scale buggies in general. Almost looks that way in 1/8 scale as fast as truggies have grown!

I would like to see the 1/10 scale wing added on if we get any pics with the body on it.

With it having 4wd, would probably be easier to drive with the high power that the combination you mentioned would put out versus a 2wd vehicle.

I don't classify tracks by scale, I look at it as just another racetrack and everybody that races on it has the same problems to fiqure out as I do. I just want to race and the more the merrier.

A 4wd version of say the T4 or MF2 would be awesome. I think the class would takeoff if the manufacturers pushed it.

I can see losi doing it sooner than AE. AE takes the wait and see approach. Someone has to be first however.

lol, AE don't even have a 4WD buggy so I highly doubt they would make a 4wd stadium truck

Cheers

I would get one, possibly even two. It would have to be the best class out there. 4WD buggies are now really starting to boom and they are now more 4wd buggy kits out there than 2wd buggy kits. The HPI RS4 MT was more like a stadium truck than a monster truck and would be cool if HPI bought out a RS4 MT2 w/shaft drive.

Cheers

HPI tried the 4x4 stadium truck thing and it just didn't catch on. I have one and they are very good and fun trucks. Just need to wait for them to catch on. I might be selling mine too if anyone is interested.
