Default Bevel Gear Explanation please

I have the option of putting in bevel gears into the gear boxes of my 1/8th buggies and truggies. These are nitro cars converted to electric. I have the general understanding around bevel gears but thought they where really designed for forward movement rather than reverse. Since nitro cars generally only go forward I see this as not a problem. My cars are not going to be designed for racing and more for leisure use hence reverse will be used. Should opt not to use bevel gears for these cars?

Are you taking about running straight cut gears vs spiral cut gears?

Rather than I miss speaking I'm attaching a pic of the gears I'm talking about.

Thank you, sorry for poorly explaining these. So, now that I have been set straight are these gears designed solely for forward motion or can I also use these when I plan to use revers? Thank you again for correcting me on this.

They will work in both directions just fine.

Thank you both for helping me out with this. Really didn't want to find out the hard way that these gears are designed for forward motion and have to rebuild the gear boxes again
