Hey guys, I just grabbed one of these motors and was wandering how i should gear it and set timing compared to a reVtech motor which i currently run with a 3.6 fdr and full timing on a 100x48ft indoor track. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! -Randy

At MRH I always run my sonic at a 3.76 and 40* timing.

Id start with the same setup and go from there. I feel like 3.76 is a little overgeared when the traction isnt ridiculous at MRH, so it should be real close up there.

I am looking for setup tips for 17.5 boosted, running LRP SS V2. What a good FDR to have, and what rotor works best in the sonic. Track avg lap time is 8.3sec.

i beleive the markings to be in real degrees of timing, at 0 the motor was slow and cold at 6 minutes, at 20 it was pretty dam good and at 45 degrees c 6 minutes and at 40 it thermaled at about 5:30 minutes and blimmin heck was it quick!

i tried 30 a few hours later and set the same times as i did at 40, but with out the heat

Hey guys read the whole thread and got one coming on the way since my thunder power was backordered! 17.5 going to be running it in 2wd sct though. Small clay and technical track with one straight away. Started gearing at 24/90

To change the timing on these you unscrew the back correct? Also if anyone is using it for offroad what are your esc settings...
