Noobie, Lazer ZX-5 Question
Whats up guys? My names Jon and I`m new to this website and the RC world. About two weeks ago I went and got a rtr Kyosho Lazer ZX-5 and I LOVE IT. I believe I`m now hooked. I was just wondering whats the differences in my model and the ZX-5 SP? Since I`ve had the car, its extremely obvious that I CANNOT drive. I`ve broken serveral things, but in the process replaced with better parts. Earlier today I broke a control arm and I cannot seem to find an aluminum replacement. Anyone know where I may be able to get ahold of a set at? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

as far as differnces between an rtr and sp:
cvd axles all around on sp
different suspension arms
different steering knuckles and hub carriers
hex screws instead of phillips
velvet 3-cap shocks with orange springs on sp
as far as alu a-arms i don't think that anybody makes them
3racing is probably the biggest aftermarket brand for this car, they have some nice stuff for it
enjoy!

One thing to consider when you're replacing parts (like a arms) is that too stiff just causes other issues. You need some flex in there, and going to a setup that is very rigid is just going to break other things; and they will cost more than a arms
It may sound backwards, but its possible that even the stock stuff is too rigid for the beating you're giving it Has it been cold where you've been running?
Sometimes, its not about making the car stronger, its about keeping it off the pipe - at least thats what I keep telling myself with my ZX-5 SP

I am in the same boat. I just picked up a used Kyosho zx5 kit not the SP. I keep braking the front knuckles and hub carriers. I have seen all the guys with the SP carriers never break. so my question is:
Can you put the SP carriers on the regular zx5 kit?
Does anyone have a link for the after market hop ups.
