Over the weekend i went through three 1st gears(61t), what i noticed on the 1st pinion(16t) is that the teeth on pinion goes into the spur like the tip of a triangle whereas the spur(X marking) looks like it should accept a pinion that has almost like a squared off tip, any1 know what i mean and could this be the cause of my 1st striping all the time?

The big thing is the TE comes stock with SL6 gearbox, DLS is included, one piece engine mount included. A couple more hop-ups are included.

One piece motor mount was a part of EVO already.

The rear flex joints are included in the kit standard now.

Some of the spur gears we received were not round but more like eliptical. that might be the cause. check your gears when you get them and make sure they are fully round.

also check your mesh on the gears. remove the 2nd gear and check the mesh with only the first gear on. sometimes even though the play is small the 1st gear contact is a little far.

another thing is too much flex on the rear end. Some people remove the carbon plate completely and dont have the top brace on or the brace screw is stripped. so the car is flexing on its length causisng the gear mesh to screw up.

I hope it helps....

i dont understand , i ran my 733 with out the brace from 2 speed post to top deck, and i even left out minimal screws in original engine mounts.
only time i stripped a gear is when 1st one way seized. so i don think its a flex thing.

We use the one piece motor mount. that may contribute to more flex vs the older design.

and you may just be unlucky and had a rock go between the gears...

Hi, from my experiences 1st gear spur stripping can also be caused by 2nd gear pinion being too close to 1st gear spur, so when the clutch engages and clutch bell goes even more outwards, they can get really close to each other and it increases the chance of stripping gears. This is usually because the cone being too thick that goes before the flywheel. To prevent this, sand the cone from the back, so flywheel should be as close as it can be to the engine. Then do the clutch shimming accordingly and you will have more gap between 2nd gear pinion and 1st gear spur.

Other possibility is sometimes spur gears dont be fully round, as mentioned earlier.

I use my car with a ball link connector at carburetor side, and with it my car has lots of longitudinal flex. I actually feel it on the track, when I hit the throttle, the car is accelerating, it flexes and gear mesh becomes tighter. There comes a slight strange gear sound sometimes. But thats all, apart from more wear on spurs, I have never stripped a fully round spur.

1550 is a stretch for the 733TE. You might get it to 1700. The 1550 weight minimum is just impossible to reach with certain models of cars.

I would have to agree.... 1550g is never going to happen with a 733, it's hard enough to get it close to the current 1725g. Might have to start looking at other brands if Aus adopts the proposed new efra weight limits.....
