The K3 is probably the best buggy engine I have ran to date. The bottom might be just a little soft for truck though. I'd probably run a K5 in truggy.

Agreed. The K3 is a great buggy engine. Nice and linear without lagging and grunt to pull a large jump right out of a turn. Very manageable, you want more, pull more trigger.

Coming off a Ninja B03/ OS2101 this motor matches bottom to mid but carries a touch more top. Also seemed to have better mileage for being fresh also, matching the best runtime I had with the OS but the K3 only had a gallon on it. Runtime should only improve.

+1 for K3 in buggy. Mine has been really good, run in was easy and it tunes super easy as well. Gets 9mins easily on a conservative tune - In saying that there are a lot of variables to affect what sort of run time you will get...
The best part for me is the smooth note it sings with the 2131 pipe

Default Removing the head shims

Hi,

I'm running the K5 for almost 17 liters now and the engine still runs strong and is really, really easy to tune.

Last week I read through the manual and found that a head shim should be removed after running in. Somehow I ignored this till last week. Then I change the shims as recommended in the manual and this makes quite some difference. The engine does now accelerate quicker and feels even stronger.

I have taken my FX K5 apart and have a qustion regarding head button (Combusion Chamber Sealed) direction when installing.
In youtube videos for other engines I can see that the head button need to be in a special direction. However, I cannot see any direction on my engine.
Am I missing somthing?

Default buggy engine

I have the original 5 port and everytime I try a smooth buggy engine I don't like it. When I hear comments that say its a good buggy engine I think ok it doesn't have enough torque. haha I'm really just kidding around. I do like the 5 port with a 9886 pipe.

with FX engines, it does not matter what way you replace the button.
its completely symmetrical in the radial orientation.
