Hey Jason;
The pics I took of my buggy were back in the summer. I'm one of those neat freaks that has to tear my car apart and clean it after every race day...lol. But I can tell ya that we DON'T have mud like that to deal with here!!! Sheesh! My buggy is all cleaned up sittin on the shelf right now. It's winter here, so we are having to race electric indoors if we want to race. It's been a pretty mild winter so far, but still way to cold to race outside.

It's one of the best prepared and maintained outdoor tracks I have ever raced on. I'm very lucky to be able to race there. It's about an hour and a half drive each way, but it's well worth it......it's a great track!!
I hope you guys get through that muddy season soon! That's some pretty harsh stuff....Keep us informed with how it's going...TTYL...

i like the barriers that they have at your track what are they using.i'm buying rocket42's hyper 8 off him.can hardly wait to get it.what tires are you using on your hyper 8.

Ya, the barriers are pretty awesome!!! The guy that owns the track, knows someone that knows someone...lol, that gives him the remnant reels of underground fiber optic tubing that the company he works for, has left over. He gets various diameters of it as well, so it works out GREAT. It's quite a bit harder to work with than than the drain tile tubing when the track layout changes, but it's well worth it!!
I typically run either crimefighters or knuckles at the tracks I race at. Some of the guys that I race with like the Komodo II's as well, but I've had good luck with the proline stuff.
You'll love the Hyper8!! I'm sure Rockets will be well kept and ready for action too...Let us know how it goes...TTYL...

Looking at getting a Hyper 8 possibly. Just a couple of quick questions:
1. Where is the buggy's weak points? I've seen a few bend their front shock tower after rough landings.
2. What servo's are you guys using?
3. Does the pro kit come with oil already in the diffs and shocks? If so, what weights are they and will they need to be changed before running the buggy.

Hi there;
I don't know of any glaring weak spots on the H8 myself. I have heard and read random complaints about the plastic parts being to weak and "wearing out" and getting sloppy to quickly. I raced my H8 most of last summer and had no problems with any premature wear. I think I have seen front shock towers bend on just about every buggy I have seen....I have never bent mine, but I do have a spare just in case. The only thing I have broke on mine is the lightened spur gear retaning ring. Other than that, it has been bullet proof for me.
No the shocks don't come filled...I don't think they are even built, but that's no biggie. I run 40 weight in mine. The diffs come with grease in them, or at least they used to. I have heard some now come with fluid in them, but I don't know for sure. Personally, I run 3,3,1 front to rear. But that will vary depending on what conditions you race/run on, as will the shocks.
I personally run an airtronics 94360 in mine, but would also consider running a 94358, or 94359. That's actually what most people run in their buggies and monster trucks.

Cool, thanks for the help. I'm actually glad the shocks don't come built, I wanted to do some building this time. 
If there filled with grease, is it just a case of taking the diffs out, opening them up and filling? Or would I need to degrease them first?

Well, this is a debate that could go on for years....Like the Ford vs Chevy thing...lol. I personally like RB engines, but they are tough to find new for 200 or under...Honestly, I have always felt that the 8-port OFNA .21 race engine is a dang good engine for the money. It holds a tune well, gets pretty good fuel mileage, and will last about 3 gallons if it's kept tuned well.
There are several good engines out there, but it's hard to find a REALLY good one for under 200 bucks..
