was the Real Time 2 discharge tray a .9 (5.4 pack)
per cell or a 0 ? does it stop at .9 or does it keep going?
cant seem to find the specs on it no more.

The Realtime 2 takes cells alll the way down to zero. I use one on my NiMh's and I disconnect each cell as soon as the led goes out.

I don't believe it has an auto cut off feature...I could be wrong but I think that you have to keep a close eye on it.

I've got the same tray, it doesn't stop. It will take the cells down to 0, which is a good thing if you want to dead short your pack.
The lights go out before the cells reach 0, mine go out at around 0.70v I think, I use a voltmeter to take each cell down to .20v.

What about the Integy Octane 2 twenty amp tray? Does it take the cells down to 0v or does it stop each cell at 0.9v?
What I am looking for is a tray that will take each individual cell down to 0.9v and stop. The tray must be bi-polar, meaning the Novak tray is not an option.

the real time 2 does not stop at zero, thats why you have to watch it coz the cells might reverse on you if you keep them in the tray long afetr the lights go off.
just my 2 cents.

you can leave nicd's on the realtime, i do that. doesnt damage nicd's it just deep discharges them. dont do that to your nimh packs though

One more question about the Novak board. Do the bars on the battery pack have to be in the right place or does just the polarity of the cells have to be in the right orientation? Right now my packs are assembled opposite of what the Novak board expects.

You can just flip your pack over...and tray it...thats what I do.

I found that using the Trinity when the lights go out is not fully discharged. This may be that the cell only hits 0.9 or so when the LED is out. I then place the same pack on a SmartTray II and the LEDS are lit for a much longer period.

I think that the other trays simply can't match the accuracy of the novak. I can leave my batteries in the tray and go get a burger and they will always be fine.

as to the resistors not allowing the cells to go negative, wont the resistors keep on discharging as long as the cells are in the tray? i beleive it doesnt stop.
