I didnt see a Speed Passion thread in the Off-Road section so I wanted to ask here.

I am getting back into RC cars after selling off all my equipment and have recently been given the Speed Passion GT Competition Brushless ESC v1.1 (720 amps) and a 13.5R Brushless Motor ver 2.0. I am going to be putting it in a 1/10th 2wd buggy.

I am looking at getting a 3.0 Competition 8.5BL. Will the V1.1 be suitable to drive this motor? Will I see any issues? I see their is a new GT2.0 and 2.1. I have liked the Speed Passion brand and would love to have it power my 2wd buggy.

By no means am I a great racer. I get to the track twice a month and just like to mess around. I like to be competitive though.

Thanks!

if you have the 1.1 pro there is no motor limit if you have the lpf the motor limit is 5.5 they will be a great setup for the 2wd buggy very smooth throttle curve

Are you running SPEC or with timing? Either way, the speedpassion.net site has your options listed in setups. From there I downloaded the latest updates and found other useful bits of info.

Default program card box for GT2.1EX

when I plug in my program card box to select the settings on my new GT2.1-EX, the box works fine to choose the desired settings for the basic speedo items 1 thru 10. But the program card box is only letting me see and select the settings for features 1 thru 10. My program card box doesn't seem to display or let me adjust the more advanced items 12, 13, 14, or 15. These are the various supercharger (a.k.a. boost) settings that motivated me to purchase the GT2.1-EX. How does one use the program card box to adjust those settings for items 12 thru 15? Can someone please describe how to access those advanced supercharger settings (features 12 thru 15) with the program card box? Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,

Is there any source online that explains in detail what each ESC settings achieves in detail?

Regards,
John.

You should plug the 2-in-1 box into your PC and update the firmware on it as well as the firmware on your ESC.

any instructions for how to connect the setup box to a PC? I would assume that there must be some sort of adapter that will connect to the setup box to a PC port. No such adapter came with the speedo or the setup box. Where does one get one, what do you call it, and how do you use it?

The LCD program box is sold seperately and comes with a usb cable that connects to your computer and esc.

SCTom is right... my mistake. You can't update the programmer that comes with the ESC. You'll need the 2-in-1 LCD program box.
