Those two chicanes look diabolical. Looking forward to running the UF1 class for that weekend and seeing the regular series guys from Asia run. Every time I am in Hong Kong, I see the posters for this series.

Too bad this race was scheduled the Saturday before the Tamiya Nationals. Sadly I won't be able to make it as I will be preparing for GT1. I hope Hideo comes back again during the UF1 Winter Season as I want a rematch from our very close battle last season!
The layout this weekend looks very much like the layout we ran that weekend

What's the suggested foam tire to use for 200mm F103? Is Zen the best one? Not sure about my schedule yet, but if possible, i'm looking forward to racing with the guys from Japan.

For this series... I believe ZEN is the only foam tire you can use...

Hrm.. brilliant of me. It does say controlled tire in the flyer doesn't it? Thanks Charles!

I understand there are some slight troubles with translating the rules? From what I can see on the F1 RCGP site, this is the setup for both 205mm classes:

F103 Front: Z9103
F103 Rear: Z9102SS

F104 Front: Z9107
F104 Rear: Z9106SS

Hey Carlos, where did you get yours?

Oh wow, ok. Dove a bit deeper into the rules with my VERY limited Japanese. Here are the specs for F1 Foam 205mm class

Weight: At least 980g; race ready
Motor: Silver Can RS-540SH or 21.5T
Gearing: 93T Spur/25T Pinion (really?)
ESC: Commercially available ESC in blinky
Battery: 2S LiFe or LiPo
Tire: Controlled Tires as follows
  • F103 Front: Z9103
  • F103 Rear: Z9102SS
  • F104 Front: Z9107
  • F104 Rear: Z9106SS
Car number: Must be visible from both sides.
Body: Must be painted. Driver figure must be attached & painted in two colors (?). Tires must be visible from above.
Race format: 4 minute qualifier. 8 minute main. Staggered start for qualifiers. Main order is max 10 cars determined by best 3 scores of 4 qualifiers. B main and lower is max 14 cars. (this MIGHT need to be amended for TQ )
Prohibited: No sauce(!). Tire truing is permitted.
