As well as my regular c hubs BD-7 style

If it gets posted (I know there is video of the main) you have to watch the punishment the car went through. I saw X-rays broken.....no aluminum but still. I went through a sweeper and was trying to make it through a traffic accident. It was pretty brutal.
Yes you can, you will need to cut the inside you the hub if you are running DCJ

Default Yokomo BD7 Spurs and Pinions

I was just wondering what what is the best spur and pinion to use on the BD7when running 17.5 blinky as I have read people were having slight problems when mounting certain brands of spur and pinion.

Many thanks.

A 96t spur gets you down to a FDR of 3.84 with a 50t pinion. If you want a lower FDR you will need a 92/93 spur. The problem is going to be your pinion size due to the clearance it has with the motor mount aluminium support piece. On the 96t spur I don't have room for anything bigger than a 50t pinion without the pinion grinding metal.

What's the story with pinion gears? There's not enough flat spot on the rotor shaft to tighten them down. If you flip them around, on the motors where that even works, the screw is obstructed by the top deck.

I need to find some smaller spurs that fit. There's not nearly as much room as other cars to fit a big pinion.

I'm running PRS pinions and flipped around the edge of the pinion run flush with the edge of the rotor shaft (Trinity D3.5). I ended up tightening the set screw of the pinion with a cheapy l-shape allen wrench. It seems as more touring cars are making their designs more centerlined (not sure how else to describe it) the more it may obsolete pinions with taller stack heights.

At our asphalt track I had to run an 84 spur to hit the correct fdr.
This car takes more work.

Syndr0me don't you take your top deck off anyway to change gearing?

Nope, never had to before. And with the top deck being so tall on this car, you can get big pinions in there pretty easily.

I think the d3.5 shaft is long enough to flip the pinion around, and I guess there's always the option of grinding more flat spot, but...

It seems to be a side-effect of how much things have been moved toward the center. The hole in the bottom of the chassis makes it clear they intended for the grub screw in the pinion to be toward the motor, but none of the ones I've looked at have a flat spot that extends far enough to actually use them that way.

What would you say the best spur is to use in the BD7, that lines up and doesn't need any holes made bigger when running 64 pitch.

Panaracer...

I also use arrowmax pinions, but i dont know if they are available outside from germany... They fit right on and you can use the hole on the bottom to tighten the screw!

Update on my BD7! Now with T-Shox!!! And a motor-fan!!!

Nice, What pistons, rebound springs and oil did you use in your T-Shox?

The rw spurs from speed tech work perfectly. The reedy motors have a shaft long enough to run aps or Robinson pinions. The schurr speed motor fits either as well, but just BARELY.

You're officially on the same drugs as bertrandv87... You're .6ths off larry and .3ths out of the b, maybe, and your consistency is horrid, but yeah maybe everyone needs to hear what setup you're running.
