Its best to toss a used filter away and replace with a new one, however, if you still desire to reuse them, washing them under warm water with dish soap works well enough.

I just use some turps then let them sit in some warm soapy water then rinse and dry, come up like new. The sock thing if its a outerwears just use some water, i know they make a special cleaner for the outerwears that doesnt remove the waterproofing but ive never used it and would love to find a cheaper easier to find substitute.

I use dishwashing soap and warm water. I also place them under the faucet and flow water through them from the center with the other side plugged. This flow the filter in reverse so dirt is not forced into the foam.

well i just cleaned them, all i did was put little bit of turps in a container roll it around then let them soak in the warm soapy water for 5mins then squished them with paper towels them with the out filter i just ran under warm water why rubbing it together with my hands then dried it out with paper towel then just got hair dryer and dried then a little bit. the filter smeels like turps still is that normal and plus would the hair dryer do anything to my filters?

I use the K&N filter cleaner that you get with the recharge kit. Works great

Thumbs up

I have a great item for cleaning air filters! I got it at my local hobbytown. Its called Fluidz. You just spray it down and wring it out then clean with warm water and soap or simple green. They come out good as new!

Go to your local Kawasaki dealership and get them to order you a can of the Kawasaki Air Filter Cleaner spray, part # K61080-020A. It's the best stuff I've found, and yes I've tried all the above. This stuff makes them white again. It rinses with water too which is nice.

that is Obsurd....it would cost u a fortune to be replacing filter's at the rate they get dirty....Why would u even say that ?...as i kno 99% of us reuse ours....i dunno if u think ur cool cuz u throw $$ away like that...but w/e floats ur boat i guess.
