I want to start by saying I am in no way affiliated with Losi. I bought a Type-R a month ago and have a couple race days on it. I love this car. I ran today at 301 Raceway In Maryland with some good competition and it was right there.
If anyone has any thoughts about getting one, stop thinking and just buy it.

What body are all the cool kids running these days with rubber tire on carpet? I guess I'm going to go forth with what little setup info I could find and hope for the best. :-)

not particular reason , i just prefer the orion over the novak ,well orion is a little lighter, runs a little cooler and can carry more gear

For me, It was fine, Super easy to drive but was pushing too much in 19T and mod. Our track and layout is pretty tight though.

I switched to STD link(Not JR), 6deg c-hub, Softer front springs(25), Harder Rear Springs(20)... Now it turns

Mazda 6 or Speed 6 seems to be the majority. I have not heard much about the DNA 2 but have run a Type M and personally did not care for it myself.

which one would you say, closest resembles a brushed motor, in terms of handling?

Novak has released a larger 13mm Rotor now that has changed that. It reduced the air gap in the motor. because of this, there is more of a drag brake effect as well as more punch. I have been informed it runs cooler as well.
