Yes, there are inserts in the tires. Some of the pit tires come with really thin inserts. Others come with a thicker foam insert. I do glue the inner bead as well. Just didn't video that. It's pretty straight forward. Just learn to use less glue and it won't make a mess.

We added carpet to our track and changed the layout slightly. So our track is a little more open and flowing. Tried the F1R out as well as my F104 pro. The pro was about .5 seconds per lap faster consistently. I ended up running the Pro for the mains.
The F1R seemed really loose in the rear. The rear wanted to slide out entering the turns and diff out under power. Just wasn't as planted as the pro was. I'm running the kit setup on the F1R. I also tried pit 574 and 575. They felt like they had a little more grip. But still not enough in the rear.
I plan on trying the lay down servo mount which will add a little more weight towards the rear. But I'm thinking of trying the larger lipo as well.

Sorry, i know that there has been a lot of shimizu tire discussion already, but...
There has been a lot of people suggesting the 571/572 front/rear combination. However, the F1R tuning notes indicate 574 or 577 for front.
The designations seem to be a F1 vs F3 compound? and soft or medium insert or sidewall. 571,573 are F1 soft/medium while 574/577 are F3 soft/medium/
So my question is how does the 571 compare to the 574 or 577? I tried the 571 and found it very sensitive to traction additive. (SXT on carpet) With full tire treatment it traction rolled all over, while 1/2 tire treatment produced severe understeer.
Does the F3 family behave like the F1 or are they less sensitive? Thanks for any insight.

I only run the 574, and it seems to maybe have more grip than the 571.
I'm not sure about the letter/number designations...
One thing i have had a thought on was the sidewall tears that happen at times. I think it happens because the rim has a sharp 90* transition from the tread area to the sidewall. I think if the sharp edge was dremeled or sanded down to a curved transition, the tearing would stop.
