On road classes...
We are trying to figure the best set and the most frequently used rules for electric sedan at our local track to try and draw interest.
What does everyone else around the country run?

Rules as in classes raced, or general rules?
if classes, I would suggest 17.5 as a good starting point.
General rules.
If racing on carpet, a minimum 5mm ground clearance and no protruding screws to ruin the carpet, or you loose your FTD.
A well established club does not tend to have too many rules, as the more you have, the more you restrict your audience to race.

Really just classes... I think we are the only 13.5 club around. This is for asphalt. We have the same 8-10 drivers weekly and would like to draw interest for some others to come and race as well. I know everyone is now running 17.5 ss with advance 17.5 stock no advance. Is this true and13.5 is now considered modified.

I'd say that because you are a small club, you will need some of your existing racers to step down to 17.5 if you plan on racing 13.5 as well until you get a better attendance.
Another cheap alternative is the 540 brushed motor to make cost even less of an issue for new people to start racing, but not everyone considers a brushed motor to be the best motor to race with.

Cost is not really an issue in this conversation.. Im jsut trying to get a general consencus about what every one usually runs in AMERICA.

Is this for Mike's in Porter or the hobby shop parking lot group?
In Austin we run 17.5, open esc. Rubber tires on asphalt.
There is also a growing number of guys that are building GT cars based on a 27 turn Axial crawler motor and some inexpensive duratrax (?) esc with any treaded tire. Those seem to look like an awful amount of fun.

We have started a Super GT class with 21.5 motors (loosely based on RCGT) that has been taking off and is attracting new people. Realistic GT/sports car bodies, 4wd, 21.5 motor, no timing, spec tire.

Every Saturday as weather allows. Setup at 11, practice soon after. Racing at 1-1:30. 3 quals and main.

Rough, but drivable. They sugar it up good with the best grape soda money can buy...from Dollar Tree!
Honestly 17.5 has been spotty, though reportedly there will be 5-6 as long as it doesn't precipitate. 1/12 should be larger...10ish 1/8 GTs...stock and mod classes for nitro TC, 1/10 E-GT and minis...I suggest monitoring the Hobbytown thread on rcfiles.com.
It's pretty laid back for roadies, then you hit the track...Bring friends!

Our group in San Diego has a great race program. We do both on-road and off-road. They usually try to have one of each per month on a Saturday. It's an awesome program with a great bunch of guys running things. It's club racing at it's best and very low key.

SC stock - 2wd SC trucks
7.4v lipo or 8.4v sub-C limit
17.5T motor limit
SC Open - 2wd (10th scale SC wheels and tires only)
SC Open - 4wd (10th scale SC wheels and tires only)
18R Stock - Must use motor that comes with 18R
RCGT - No "race bred" bodies allowed
Must use spoked wheels and HPI X-Pattern radials
7.4v lipo or 7.2v sub-C limit
17.5T motor limit NO BOOST
Mini class - HPI Cup Racer, ABC Genetic, Tamiya M chassis, etc.
