Saw a KX-One in a race a week ago. It was with rubber tires on carpet. The car seem to perform well. I talked with the owner.

Unfortunately, pricing of spare parts seems very high, he had spend 1/3 of the cars total price, just to get a ball-diff for the front. And I still find the car have to come with better tunings options out of the box.

azDan: If you did manage to pick one up, I don't think you'll be sorry. I've run my KX-1 indoors and outdoors and with foams and rubbers and the car simply handles well. It doesn't seem to have any natural handling ills.

Personally I have had the most luck outdoors with foams with the car. Thats where it has really shined for me. I've taken some heavy impacts here and there and haven't had any breakage so far.

Its just a joy to drive.

Anyone still running this car? Tower has them for $119.99 right now. It is a pretty good price for what you get.

thank you for the heads up. i just bought my third (sold the first two over a year ago), and will likely get another. it's a quality kit that's very durable, but unfortunately, has little adjustment.

i want to make something cool out of it though.

we'll see.

I just got one at $119.99 too. I've been running in the Tamiya M-chassis class at the local club for a couple years and this is my first 'kick-at-the-cat' in sedan for a while. I've only run it for two race nights now but so far I like it!! Just gotta get the right pinion for it to work better on our track. I don't have any 64 pitch so I'm borrowing till I get a few of my own.
Seeing that it was a low priced kit compared to my fellow sedan racers, I didn't hesitate to order the nice carbon racing battery holders and the hop-up blue motor heat-sink. The car looks much nicer than the amount spent would suggest....

about 2 years ago on this board (or rctouring days), someone calculated that a front diff is $70 in parts. at this rate you should buy a new car from tower. i'm still contemplating doing that.

hadnt thought of that.. shoulda just ordered another car! i already ordered up some parts tho. seems like it was about 50. i didnt get their diff balls or thrust balls, since they are common 1/16th and 3/32... i had one of these about a year ago, and sold it without trying too much. with the tower price as cheap as it was, i couldnt resist! not like i needed another car.....
