WGT is more like 1/12 scale for those that can only concentrate for 6 minutes, not 8.

I'm usually good for 7 minutes of concentration in 12th scale, and 5 in WGT. Always a day late and a minute short..............

Me too, but it never seems to be 7 minutes in a row. If it totals 7 minutes I'm happy...

Yeah, but you have those 2 pit stops to relax a bit

Dan Quayle, right! and Lloyd Bensen?

honestly, i have been disappointed with the present administration. i was anticipating many more entertaining quotations from the current VP. maybe the handlers and gag orders are more effective than in years past?

You probably win a lot of staring contests. Hard not to blink for a full 8min.

You're supposed to blink your eyes on the straight section of the track
Breathing is also an important thing to remember

Sounds obvious, but I see folks all the time that forget to do both during a race

Ahh, the infamous bleary-eyed, blue-faced walk from the drivers' stand.

Our F1 race back in the day was 45mins. Originally that was 3 pit stops but as batteries got better it got down to 1 pit stop. By then though people found 45mins too long so we shortened it to 30mins but had to enact a mandatory pit stop rule because people could easily do the whole race on 1 battery.

When the 24hrs of LeMans and Sebring would come on we would hold 2.4 hour GTP races Most people drove in teams but there was 1 or 2 who would drive the whole thing themselves.

I've heard it's similar to a bleary-eyed, prone position ride on a luggage cart.

This. It takes discipline to force yourself to do this. And to take a slow deep breath as well. If you're concentrating too hard, that's when those two don't happen.

And yes, I kick my daughter's butt in staring contests.
