Mugen mtx4 gear problem
Hi could anyone help me out ---- please
Could you tell me what gap or approximate gap the centrifugal clutch type thing in the gear housing should be at ?
I currently use approx 4-5mm of gap between one of the shoes to the other. It's just it won't drive if the screws on the shoes are too tight. But also it will only use second if not tight enough.
I am sure I could go out and test it taking up a couple of hours at Halifax. But can anyone give me some pointers --//PLEASE\\--
I love the car I wish to use it more once this problem is fixed
Cheers, James

I usually start with the adjustment screws two turns out from fully closed.
1.Warm up the engine,
2. Accelerate slowly with the throttle 1/4 to 1/3 open, hold it there and let the engine speed up the car. It is easier to hear the transmission shift and the engine exhaust note change.
3. If you don't hear the transmission shift, bring the car in to your pit area and open each transmission clutch adjustment screw 1/2 turn, go back to step 2.
4. Once you hear the transmission shift to second gear, make your adjustments in smaller increments, like 1/8 to 1/4 turn.
If you don't have the time to try this method, try 5 turns out from closed. But remember it is more difficult to hear the shift point initially, if your are applying full throttle.
