Will, I don't know what your stock car looks like or has on it but Joe B. has the BMI chassis and he was a good 3oz lighter than my stock tub and mine was at 51.5oz and besides when you go to big races you just have to add weight anyway. Also I think that the car is [U]at least[U] just as stiff if not stiffer as the stock tub. Plus it looks killer and performs better.

Jason - I found that mine is still over weight 1545 grams.
I'm running the steel diffs, so that may contribute to the weight.
I noticed that you can twist the car side to side - in effect tweaking it. I haven't run it on the track, so I'm not sure.

Hi,
wdm80:
running steel diifs will make you overweight. I run lightened steel diffs and I still come in heavy for mod class.
for diffs just as strong but lighter I run Hardcore Alumium diffs. you might have to work on the cases a little but it's well worth it.
chassis twist:
yes you can twist the chassis with the 3mm top deck. but the forces implied on the chassi/top deck when your racing are no where near the pressure you are using to twist the chassis. even in mod/foams/carpet. I have found that a modded tub TC3 will take a tweak with a moderate hit. so far we haven't had a tweak problem with the B.M.I. chassis with either top plate on carpet. we mostly run stock and some mod (7x1)s we will run the 3mm top plate on med to high bite tracks.
if you have any other questions please e mail me at [email protected]
as for being wimps..I never wear a coat all winter long. last night it was 1 above with a wind chill around -40* F
also I'm a transplanted Canadian..... so I know about winters.
Stephen B:
Hi,
Thanks for posting you thoughts on the B.M.I. chassis I am looking forward to running ours on carpet soon......as soon as I get a weekend off work.
What body were you running??? track size??? Etc??
Thanks

Tim, I run on a Very smooth asphalt track that is I think 140x70 I just got a Mazda 6 body and it runs great (more steering than stratus 2.0 but still just as planted). If you are talking about running the x-ray on carpet it will be awsome, that thing is as stiff as a rock (and i mean that!! ) which makes the suspension more predictable and to me smoother to drive.
Maybe after you get it you can post your setup up b/c this is going my first year with an x-ray on foams at the snowbirds and I will probably need a starting point.
