Thumbs up '13-'14 HobbyPLEX Winter Carpet Onroad Series

Alright guys, get 'em ready for the '13-'14 HobbyPLEX Winter Carpet Onroad Series!!!

With new rug on the way, we hope to see an increase in racers and a great season of racing!!

Dates: November 10th, December 8th, January 19th, February 9th, March 16th

Classes: MINI, VTA, 13.5 1/12th, USGT, UF1, 17.5 TC

Entry Fee: First class - $15, Additional class - $8, Junior drivers (12 & under) - $5/class

Doors open @ 9AM, Practice until 11AM, Qualifying @ 11:15AM, Racing begins @ 12:45PM

We will use the same unique race format from last season. First round is an open qualifying session, with your fast five lap average seeding the mains. TQ will be worth 2 points! Three "heads up" races to determine the overall winner and each class will use a unique points system.

**Mini, 1/12th & 17.5 TC will all use the "Triple A" format, best 2 of 3 on points, tie-breaker total time.

**VTA will count each race as an "A" main and add up the points at the end with 150 being a perfect score. Race #1 will start inverted, race #2 will start inverted from the race #1 finish, race #3 will start inverted from the race #2 finish. "A" mains will be 8 minutes and lower mains will 5 minutes.

**USGT will count each race as an "A" main and add up the points at the end with 150 being a perfect score. Race #1 will start on qualifying order, race #2 will start inverted from race #1 finish, race #3 will start on qualifying order. All races will be 6 minutes.

**UF1 will count each race as an "A" main and add up the points at the end with 150 being a perfect score. Each of the three races will start on qualifying order and 6 minutes.

Check the dates and clear your calendars guys!! This year has the look of a great season of racing, don't miss out!!

Any questions or comments?

Thanks,

Tim Ski

Bring it on. This will probably be the last full winter racing for me here in Omaha. I am in the process of buying a house in Lynch Ne. I will be able to make the winter series and some big events. Time to make a big life change for the better. See y'all at the track.

With the new rug on the way would any of the 1/12th racers (and Tim, of course) consider running open esc 13.5 or 10.5 blinky? Or dare I say full out mod?

Interested to see how much crap I can break with a faster motor

Tim,

Is the Kyosho Plasma you have on hand a legit entry for 12th scale?

I think that last winter was the most competitive season of 1/12 scale that we have had in a long time. For that reason, I would hate to change it.

But, I am up for anything. Lets Race!!!

Do you guys follow straight VTA national rules? Gear ratio limit?

Definitely planning on making at least a couple coming from Topeka.

We follow straight vta rules and we do have a 5.0 final drive rule http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rules/index.html. But Tim has the final say so. Hope you guys from Topeka come up to Omaha I had a great time racing you guys at your home track!

Should work, uses standard wheels and has 1S option

I think Z is right, why change what works.

Full USVTA rules with two exceptions, 5.0 FDR limit and driver figure recommended but not required.

Default 2014 carpet nats

Tim,

Unless I've read it incorrectly.... I think its time for you to change your signature line to include the 2014 ROAR Carpet Nationals. Congrats to you & the Plex crew.

Only three weeks until the first race on the new rug!!

Who's in? What are you running?

USGT & F1 for me, maybe have a VTA for someone to run.
