Default .21 shimming

Engine should come stock at .4.
Please add a .1 for 25% and depending on outside temp and humidity, possibly add another .1. So, you could end up having .6 of shims.

You will have to check after running on track.

Hello Zeddy, start your engines around 210 no more than 225 max. Remember you have to run your 3 or 4 minute practice before the race starts hard, do not baby the car or you will not get the right temp on the motor, it will run lean during the race if you don't..... Thats is what I was taught by MS...

Hi,

From what I have read, the .21 EMX should come installed with 0.4mm worth of shims.

I was preparing my EMX for run-in this weekend, and realized that mine only came with 0.1mm worth of shims, i.e. 1 copper shim.

Something wrong some where? Or am I missing something here?

Hello Sammies, they acually come with .32 or .34, what ever calibers will all may use copper shim, I have never seen or heard of this mistake before from the 2012 or 2013 PICCO engines. Where did you purchase your engine from? Did you measured the shim with calibers? If you have and it is truely .1mm, we are truely sorry for the mistake. I will send out some shims if needed.
Please let me know. If it is .1mm in the engine then we must add .4 mm more shims, if it is .32 copper when you measure then only add a .1 shim or .2 shim to the engine in hot conditions. Plese get back with me.

Thank you Billy

Thanks Billy, for the reply and confirmation on the amount of shims the engine should be shimmed to.

Yes, I measured it with calipers. That one piece of copper shim was 0.1mm.

No worries about sending the shims. I have them, and have shimmed it to 0.5mm.

Thanks again.

Cheers.

Sam

Hello Sam, I apologize for that mishap. Thank you for checking the shim thickness, I meant no disrespect on questioning your knowledge, but I had to ask.. I would be glad to send you some shims if needed. If there is anything I can do please feel free to ask.

Hello everyone ,

I just recieved one of this nice engine.
I have torque x but with factory tuned ceramic and bench tested .
Does it mean that the engine already broke ? or i need to do breaking procces ?
I heard that i just need to do 2 fuel tank and then race tune , is it so ? For the gearing does i need to use the same as with Nova engines or i can go lower as it have more buttom? What is the best plugs to use ? Picco or OS ? The pipe 2033 or 2069 ?
Tnak you if someone can help with this .

Default Bench tested

Hi Skem61
Bench tested does not mean it's broken-in. You still have to go thru the break-in process. Bench tested means it was inspected and ran on the bench by Edo himself.
2 tanks no shifting and very soft clutch
4 tanks very rich with early shifting
Begin race tune

Been gone for a while. Looks and sounds like Picco has become a dominant force power and low $$$ wise
