I need some gearing advice. I have a 17.5 lrp motor and a techin rs pro ecs. What gear ratio should I try. The track I run at has long straights and two chicains. What internal ratio should I have 1.7 or 1.9. Thanks a lot in advance.

Default reduce front end wobble

my front end wobbles alot, but only on 45° or more steering. I heard the ECS shafts help out alot, but are very expensive.

Is there a quick and cheap alternative to fixing this problem? I know cheap and xray dont really go hand in hand

the ecs drives do help heaps xray ones are expensive but there is another brand (atomic i think is the brand mr cribbin can confirm ) also are equally as good & a lot cheaper, once again mr cribbin can confirm as he runs them
hope this helps

Also make sure the driveshafts remain clean and well lubed. I also found that adjusting the ackerman can help with the vibrations.

The Atomics are also half as strong as the Xrays. I haven't seen a set last more than two weekends or so.

XRAY might be more expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for.

I've got a '009 for sale locally but am having 2nd thoughts. I like how the car works but I've got a problem. It breaks almost every time I drive it. In our 17.5 TC class about 90% of the cars are T2's of some sort, but my '009 is the only one that breaks. C hubs, arms, steering blocks have all broke regularly. The other XRAY guys are shocked mine breaks so easily... I don't get it. Main difference is they have alum steering blocks. Don't want to spend the dough on them if I'm just going to keeping breaking other parts. I spent the money to have tough car.. but this about as brittle as anything I've ever had... maybe the worst.

Some thought it might be the spool so I put in a diff and it still broke. I'm not saying this to knock the car I just have NEVER seen an XRAY break like this.

Any thoughts?

3. what would be a good starting fdr and profile on an spx on an open asphault track? its 17.3 with and express duo2 motor.
