Just picked up a Turbo Matcher and Xipp Zapper . . . on ebay . . .

Just curious if these are of much value anymore, I ended up paying close to $300 for it . . . I used the turbo matcher to charge a nitro guys glow plug cell and Xapped and cycled my old NiCd's which really seemed to help.

Seems pretty cool, 35 A discharge but single cells.

Just a fun gadget, maybe I should have got a setup board and a tweak station instead . . .

With TC allowing LiPo, it only seems like a few Pro's and the 12th scale guys are using NiMh. It is still good and not outdated for small scale operation. Matchers that sell packs are using the 8/35. Honestly, give it 2 or 3 years and we will be all LiPo and brushless.

That's the thing, it says it's for max 3600 mah cells . . . I can still get good data on the 43-4600 cells right?

yeah it'll be fine, just watch your peak detect since you are only dealing with single cells .005 or .01

Competition Electronics is really good for updates. They probably have one that will allow you to match higher MAH of cells.
I have an old Turbo matcher also, mine is the older 20amp 6cell version... I intend to get the update chip for mine.

That xipp (integy) zapper is not intended to zap virgin cells.

Is the zapper intended to revitalize old cells? I have a bunch of Sanyo 1400SCRs that I would really like to have for restoration purposes of my '80s rides. Right now they perform very poorly, low voltage, in the 500mah range. Can the zapper restore at least some of the performance to at least some of the cells?

I know some are restoring with modern electrics and such, but I'd like to go all the way back if possible.

it might help the old cells i wouldn't use it on newer cells, also make sure and get all the solder you can off the cell or you will have a nice arc and sprark and burn the connector ends on the zapper
