I just got a b3 team a few days ago. I want to know what motor could get it up to 40 mph. I am using 2400 matched 6 cell and a novak dually so the turn number is not a problem. I want to race in mod 2wd, but my b3 with the trinity chameleon 19t is no where near as quick as the other buggies. None of the drivers want to tell me what they are running.

40!!?? eeh.....D6 6x5 geared to the moon....GP 33's matched....why 40? How about a speed that is equal to the other buggies? Just work towards matching them in speed then call it good. Unless you're bashing, there's no need to much faster than the fastest guy at your track.

just try a 15 double and start there chances are if you have not driven with that kind of power before the 15 double will be better cuz you will not crash as much making your numbers appear faster than your car really is. i suggest a speed gems pro titanite cuz they last a long time and have a good mix of power and speed.

if this is for racing and you have great car handling abilities, look into something like a 10 - 12 turn motor.

I run a 12 turn double Peak Vantage ( V2 technology ) and its great. Runs a long time before rebuilds.

Personally, if you could get a 19T class going I would look into that. 19 turn buggy racing is quite fun.

Don't be put off by running the 19 turn motor till you get a mod motor or feel more comfortable with the speed.

go with a Peak Vantage, or the Orion motor..... they will get anything quick...

I guess B3 and B4 are pretty much the same?

thanks for the motor advice, I went with a 10t peak vintage.....its a little to fast but with practice I should be about to control it.

The b3 and b4 are almost the same. Only a few small things set them apart. At my track the b3's and t3 run the 4's down.....its mostly the driver and the track.

Sweet... for some reason I thought this was a dead thread but this is great...

Here are my questions about the B3. I got the B3 as a roller; but I still need to get wheels and tires. First thing what's the deal with the 2.2 wide front tires? yes I know wider is better... but where can I find the OEM front wheels? Next, would you guys say skip looking for the OEM front wheels/tires and just go with the wider ones?

Next, shock oil... everyone and their mother says to go with the stock weight... either I'm an idiot but I can't find what stock weight is... some ppl tell me 30 or 35 all around... but I'll leave that up to you guys to help me decide.

Finally, Pinion and spur gears... I was told to stick with 48 pitch so I can swap it between my B3 and the TC3. So what my question here is what's the deal with the chart? it makes sence to me but I read somewhere that ppl were using a 19-20 tooth pinion on a stock motor... sounds like I'll be blowing that motor up real quick. What's the deal there?

original fronts are 9481 and u can get them from Tower, I think original oil was 30Wt, the gearing in the manual is for a high torque stock motor like a p2k, I use 22/81 for a p2k2 and 19/81 for a monster stock, hope that helps!

BAM! now that's a reply...

ok how about for a race setup? what weight would you use? and with the pinion combos would you say it would be good for a short track (looking for acceleration). I think the longest straight would be about 40ft

oil weight depends on track conditions and many other factors such as the way u want the car to handle and the springs you are using. Its hard to suggest a setup without knowing the track conditions, you may want to try the AE website, they have plenty of b3 setups, start with the standard one if you are not sure. What stock motor are u running?

that's the thing I'm trying to figure out what standard is.... the manual doesn't say what weigth it gives you. (I'll re-read it) but thanks for the AE input I thought they left the B3 in the dust when the B4 was released... thanks!


if I can't find standard how does 30weight sound?

I thought the standard oil was 30 but the site says 25 but the 30 should be fine...if the track is bumpy or you want the car to be more responsive then u could give 25wt a go

thanks... sorta couldn't find that... now its in my fav's list...

thanks for all the help... here's a few pics of the track... its an indoor off-road track I think its really sweet no more heat waves or rain outs and we can even play when it's snowing out
