This is the 5th chassis in 6 months

It always breaks the motor side of the chassis, where the suspension arm joins....... really starting to piss me of now, any ideas or hop up options available, its not just me that breaks them its nearly everyone on my club..

It looks like your spending WAY to much money to keep the tl-01 alive,and you must be going to harder and faster than a tl-01 can handle,i ould recommend getting another budget racer if you dont have much money IE:
Xray t1r,tamiya tt-01,Losi xxxs, even a HB cyclone S when it comes out.

The fact is that the tl-o1 was not made for hard racing,so it will be cheaper for you to get one of the above cars rather than hop up a car that was not made for racing.

if you got the funds and want a car that wont break a chassis in the same place as it seems .. try a TA05 !!! Very good and easy to set up out of the box and more durable ..... just a suggestion ...

I agree with the advice before, you should get a new car... or take a look at ur track design... maybe something wrong w/ ur corners.... because if everyone broke 5 chassis in 6 months, we would all be a whole lot poorer!

In the two years I have been racing I have cracked one chassis but it is still useable, my TL01 has become a montster truck and thats why it broke, as a touring car I've never had a problem with anything apart from the inefficeint drivetrain

Hve you been spraying your plastic TL-01 parts with motor cleaner. some motor cleaners can weaken ABS parts and break them upon stress.

Broken a chassis on a TL01? I had one of those as my first electric cars, and used to trash it badly as I was learning to drive, and all I killed in it were steering servos.

I love my TL-01 and refuse to buy a new car untill i have explored every posibility of modification...
The main problem with the TL-01 is that when you get it going HELL FAST, it tends to roll over.. a lot!!! this is due to the height the car sits and the weight distribution. so to change this.. i had to make my own shock towers out of 3mm ally, cut the crap out of the inside on the chasis so as to mount the battery length ways instead of across the body.. .. then i mounted the ESC right next to the motor and hard wired it, and on the opposite side i mounted the receiver and a few other bits with the antena glued directly onto the receiver. this alows all the center space for a modified battery.. please see photos.

what i did to start with was strip then entire car down.. then started cutting, sanding and grinding away most of the inside.. this includes one of the middle skrew joints, which makes the chasis a tad weak, but a bit piece of glass tape along the bottom fixes this..

then i marked the existing shock tower layout on paper and redrew them to be 2-4mm higher then the old ones. marked this onto 3mm ally wiht carbon paper, cut and grinded away till they looked like this.

and then once i got it to fit.. i cut off the old shock towers..
and grinded away some of the little sticky outy bits at the ends..

then it was a matter of reassembling the entrie car. with new shock springs, heavy on the front and mediums on the back... heavy stablizer on the rear as well. but not the front. and it looks a bit like this..

i also opened up the motor mount holes and added washers so i can now fit all the pinions from 18t to 24t.. but at the moment i am running a 20t and its a rocket for sure.

now for the battery.. because of the servo mount.. unless you raise it, it will be blocking the battery from sliding all the way in.. so you have to make a battery like this...

and it fits perfectly.. nice and tight..

this also helps lower the weight on the chasis and all the weight is centred.

has a ride height of around 2mm weights in at 1447grams fully loaded (without shell) and i cant get it to roll.. this took me a week of lunch breaks and all of friday arvo down the track to put back together and refine the settings..
but its well worth it.. hardly cost anything to do , just a lot of love and care..
This is now a competitive car, and im still love my TL-01!! 3 years and still not broken.

Smoking motor..

don't ride the curbs on the track or hit the boards, as the supension mount is the weakest link in the chassis that why it breaks.
Doesn't matter if your are running a 540 stocke etc. It just the design will cuse the supension mount to tear off.
