now it makes it even a tougher call....With the price of an optional 3mm chassis, that's pushing the price of an RDX. Before I decided on the FK05, I looked at the RDX and was real interested in it, didn't get it because of the price, but now the price is similar, I'll have to look at the RDX again.

For outdoor racing as well as indoor racing with rubber tires the 2.5mm chassis will be great I think. But time will have to tell what works best when. We are still testing and learning the car ourselves.

Why would you want a flexier car? Even if a 2.5 will be just fine for outdoor, why not throw in the 3 so it'll work on all surfaces. Does pavement need a flexier car or something?
I'm such a carpet racer

If you look at all the racing in a year, my carpet races out numbers my asphalt racing, even though I'm really an 1/8th gas racer more than anything. No matter how low traction an outdoor track is, I can still make a 3mm chassis work, and I won't be at a big disadvantage because I'm not running a 2.5mm chassis, but running foam this winter, a 2.5 mm isn't going to cut it to be competitive.

"Here is a picture of the BMI 4mm chassis. This is the chassis that was used by all Team Corally drivers for Novak and the Snowbirds."
that was posted on the corally thread, I think schumacher uses bmi, along with the pro 3 and 4, hpi pro 4, and some or all of the yokomos, and the fk 04 and probably the fk 05 once they are out...so whats the big deal about, very few leave anything stock.....
your all whining and crying about a car you probably have never seen, and definatly havnt driven...chances are that only one or two of every hundred sold will be driven up to the cars potential the way it comes box stock.......

I just think its rediculous to have to spend 500+ dollars to get a car to work right in everyday circumstances. Why not offer 2 kits one with a one way and 2.5mm chassis and one 3mm with diff. I mean when was the last time an xray won a big asphalt race in the US anyways?

I don't want the battery holders....I'm planning on taping my batteries in..I was going to order a BMI chassis for my other Xray, and I was going to get the tape version of that as well...
Xray is also goign to be producting a thinner chassis as well for peopel that want more flex....if you go to a board where that style requirement is more prevalent they would scream about the 3mm chassis if that was chosen....
2.5mm is still thick and stiff enough for MOST people...
Design is all about compromise as there is no way to make everyone 100% happy

deciding what car to buy , or what parts should be included because of a big race a pro driver won, is like looking at the pictures on the front of a lottery ticket to decide which one to buy lol.....Xray cars have traditionaly been good fast race cars....pick the brand you like and trust, buy it and have fun....thats what this is all about.......
