I'm poked every saturday by all the brushless dudes, so no harm done
Nitro is shite when it stalls every 5 min and you don't know why and just wanna race the thing but can't?!??!!,, I'll agree on that
But the XXL VE and GP version are the same, engine differes, so I enjoy reading this thread from time to time.

I enjoy 2 of these cause my pretty half loves the large scale stuff..
We used to do 2 stroke but switched to these cause of the lipo being easier then traveling around with gas cans.

Looks nice!!! needs high power brushless in it (kidding of course)
Not sure after thinking about sway bars....
They may make it handle more like a road car..
Letting the suspension work on its own for off road is sometimes better.
Mine are both stock and on my home track and out bashing they work good for me.
Kinda would like to try the aluminum shocks but the RC budget is gone for this summer.

I guess when the time comes I will look for something else that fits the buggy then.
The factory ones are very expensive and hard to find.

Does anybody know of any shock diaphrams/bladders that fit the aluminum shocks ?? I'm just guessing any 16mm big bore shock ones will work, although the shocks may be bigger, they look slighlty bigger, maybe 17 or even 18mm, they will need a rebuild one day

Old scorpion xxl ve or nitro
Hi guys
Just joined and cant find a parts wanted section.
Anyway im trying to find a oldch Kyosho Scorpion xxl
Preferably the ve.
Or swap trf415 and hpi sprint custom etc bodies etc.
Just want one of these now...
What do they look like with a 1/10 buggy or car shell on?
Does anyone have pics?
Also are there many hop ups available?

Have we come up with a list of tires that fit the STOCK Scorpion rear wheels. Will any 3.2 tire do it?
#699
Yes they will fit i believe....
Order up a set of 17mm bad lands they fit perfect...
However if you do that be ready to do the diff modd cause they are grippy and the stock diff doesn't last long.
Somebody a while back cut a pair of them for the front wheels.

Hi
First off. Great work Kyosho in building a kit 100% more durable than my Yeti Xl!
1. THE DIFf
My research says Stock=weak gear diff
Cen = strong gear diff
Ball diff??? non existant
Other brands/modded diffs that will fit= ???
2. HPI BAJA RIMS
Im guessing they will fit? I like the design and find narrow front+wide rear buggy rims hard to find.
3. Assuming no Lsd (limited slip differential) can be sorted out which I excpect to be the case..
Can i run 10k,100k 1,000,000k diff fluid?
What kind of resistance in rotation could i expect with these 3 viscosity ratings?
4. What brand and scale of bodies would best suit?
Im looking at an FG Beetle body i saw.
#fun fact. My Yeti Xl has the same wheelbase and rough track width as the Scorpion Xxl.
One is 1/8, one is 1/7...
Lol. More like 1/6 scale in reality.

Any ideas regarding previous post?
Any pics of Scorpion Xxl's with different bodies fitted?
NOT the Xxl ve or Bxxl Ve bodies.

Ok
So I was brain storming on how to fix both my buggies diffs.
Seeing how the last time I ran them they both finally blew up.
I was standing in my shop looking and my very old wooped what was left of a savage flux.
Lets just say after some machining and hand work the diffs are now in both buggies.
They work nicely and have to be cut down like the CEN diff does on one end.
It makes the wall in the diff cup screw area a little thin but it does bolt up after some opening up of the stock holes in the stock main drive gear.
Be aware that the stock drive gear is super hard and requires very good drills to get through it.
This was my no spending money fix with parts that I had.
I tried the buggy yesterday on 4S with belted street tires that are very heavy.
Its cold here right about freezing and the buggy ran great!
Lots of wheelies and direct throttle punches from a stand still.
So far so good.
Just wanted to let people know that the Savage flux diffs can be used.!
